Title: Strange problem... Transaction not showing up in QT
Post by: dnaleor on June 21, 2014, 02:23:55 PM
Hi!

I transferred 1 BTC from an exchange to my QT wallet.
The blockchain seems to confirm it, but I don't see it in my wallet.

I have checked before I executed the transaction, as I always do, that I own the private key by signing a test message with that address.
I also checked the blockchain and I remember the previous tranactions with that address, so I own the private key.

But for some reason, the transaction is not in my wallet.

I just restarted the client, waiting for it (can take a while). And if the problem isn't solved, I will prove ownership by signing and post a printscreen.
In the mean time, does anybody have an idea what possibly could have gone wrong?

I guess I didn't lost the bitcoin, because I should still have acces to the private key in one way or another?

I was just about to post the printscreens of my transaction list and the signed message, but...
Transaction showed up with 3 confirmations out of nowhere.

Very strange! Maybe I had not enough connections with the network (I was synced and had some connections)
I don't know...

anyway, problem solved :)

it happens, usually this can be solved with -rescan
but a restart might work as it did in your case

It is either your QT wasn't synced or you have no nodes connecting to you.
