If someone was to give you $1000 to invest in any altcoin other than bitcoin what would you buy and why?

CDs Unobtanium has looked promising for a while. I decided finally to buy some, but a few months later, I still haven't been able to get it out of coinex. :'(

I would make the island into a comfortable place and away from technology so anyone who visit there can forget all the existing technologies and back to nature

His question is what altcoin you would buy if you were given $1000 to invest in altcoin.

I think I would invest $800 in litecoin and invest the rest to new promising altcoins.

I'll split it to Monero and Razor, just for short term since they are hot now
for medium range of term, i choose DRK

I like your answer. However, I would $900 in litecoin and $100 in another altcoin. I believe in litecoin. 8)

XMR but you're pretty late to get in on the pump now..... who knows when it'll pop :P

I think LTC and some others of BTC-e are extremely high, soon those bubbles will pop.

I would invest in Doges, besides that i love dogs, those ones are getting popular and i believe that the price is very very low right now, it's

There's only a handful of altcoins which aren't outright scams. I would buy LTC as it has the longest history and highest hash rate. I don't currently hold any altcoins.

I think i would personally buy $500 in darkcoin $250 in LTD and $250 in ripple. Dogecoin would b considered but I don't see it as an investment.

Altcoin? Hmm, I suppose I'd watch for hype in the altcoin announcement forum and buy some coins on the cheap before they make it to an exchange. Specifics are difficult.....

All 1K in LTC.  I have mined at least 20 altcoins in addition to BTC.  None has been more stable and profitable than LTC.  I don't bother with those premine coins or pump and dump schemes - money for a few but such a waste of time - the coins end up functionally dead - you're basically stealing money from new investors.

Litecoins.

500$ - Litecoin (just hold until all crypto is completely recovered)
200$ - Dogecoin (hodl until the universe project is over)
300$ - all sorts of alt-coins (sell as soon as ROI is 120%)

SarahPalinCoin will invest it there once this coin is live.

Many people like LTC, i never hold LTC anymore since it drops many times ???

I'd buy Bitcoins worth $1,000. And at today's exchange rate, that would be equivalent to BTC1.677.

Altcoins are becoming obsolete nowadays. Litecoin is struggling, as most of the sites which had used it earlier are operating no more. The other alts, such as TRC and Devcoin are not even worthy of mentioning.  ;D

True, I'd certainly say LTC is reaching bottom against BTC. Could dip lower, but from a long term perspective, LTC should definitely go up against BTC to retest some of those historical levels -- .035 and up.

Honestly, in the next week, I see litecoin jumping about 30-40 cents (up to at least $10) just to balance out the difference between LTC and BTC.

I'm talking much, much bigger. And I think LTC will outperform BTC in the short term -- similar to November 2013. I think it is getting near the bottom of its all time log trend against BTC, and is bound to pop. Could double, triple, quadruple against BTC I think.

Totally agree. However, one can't be sure it won't see another ridiculous pump-and-dump or two. It has stuck around far longer than I would have thought. That damn meme...

I agree with so many doge out there it's almost worthless as an investment although it hs been around longer than i expected. Goodluck 2 them but I won't b buying any.

Maybe buying some Litecoin, Darkcoin  and Dogecoin

What are peoples thoughts on NXT and namecoin as investments?, nxt market cap is growing but I personally have some more research to do before investing.

I want to buy a car for me so I will go for a ride with my girlfriends for long drives . but I am waiting for 1btc = $1k so it will come true :P

If someone gives me 1000 dollar i will not invest in any altcoin just buy a good gaming rig of amd and mine the altcoin my self or go for cloud mining .. :)

I'd use 50% for Ðogecoins because it has the best community, and 40% for Peercoin because its technology has, imho, the most potential to stay secure and decentralized for the long term.

The other 10% I'd use to juggle between different alts and keep the potential profits in Bitcoins.

I would buy HYPER and GameleagueCoin

I heard about some Darkcoin ? did i write it ok? I'd invest in that maybe 100$ and maybe 300$ in Litecoin and 600$ in bitcoin.

Darkcoin I still think would be a good chance in this volatile game but are you crazy to still want to invest in Litecoin? The price will keep dropping on that one I think. Coindesk had a good story on it today. Dogecoin is another bad investment i think but I can't tell the future and if you have any of these coins then I wish you good luck.

Well here's what I'd do with the $1000:

For the long term, I'd invest in Darkcoin and Blackcoin, $200 each.
With the remaining $600 I'll put $50 each into 12 promising new coins.  8)

Probably litecoin. Sure there are more profitable altcoins but I would feel the most confident investing into litecoin since it has been around so long.

Think he meant altcoins aren't worth investing.


I would open a thread on the altcoin subforum asking about what coins have true technological inovations, not only some parameters changed, good comunity or funny dogs in their logos

Supercoin seems to be the go to alt coin rightnow.

Not invest in altcoins. Instead invest in 1000 $1 scratchers. ;)

I'm really surprised at how much support Ltc still has, I was starting to think it was dying but maybe not. I take Darkcoin off my list now.

LTC is pretty embedded in the crypto economy/community, if only originally (and still :P) for speculation reasons. I caught some lowball bids on that $2.xx spike the other day -- good times. 8)
