Title: yesbitcoin: Plans to Make Bitcoin a Household Name - Thoughts?
Post by: yesbitcoin on June 23, 2014, 05:32:02 PM

Here is our pre-launch press release. We are looking for thoughts on how we can be most effective. We have a clear idea of what we want to do and where Bitcoin needs to go in the future, but we also understand that is going to take the entire Bitcoin community to get there. Feel free to post, help, share, etc.

Here is an excerpt..

"Today yesbitcoin, a non-profit organization, announced its plan to launch as the
leading strategic, consumer- and merchant-facing communications effort on behalf of the world’s most prominently
accepted cryptocurrency: bitcoin. yesbitcoin will focus primarily on driving understanding and acceptance of bitcoin as
a mainstream consumer technology for everyday commerce.
“yesbitcoin fills a desperate need in the Bitcoin ecosystem,” said Branden Petersen, Executive Director and Founder
of yesbitcoin. “Bitcoin remains an enigma to the mainstream consumer marketplace despite exponential growth in
venture capital and number of commercial business entities. Bitcoin investors, users and commercial interests are
depending on the adoption of bitcoin, with upside value heavily dependent upon its use as a currency in the everyday
marketplace. In order for this to happen, the broader community of diverse interests must communicate effectively to
the marketplace at-large.”

This needs to be moved to General Discussion - General. For a piece of news to be posted on this sub-board it must have, you know, been published by a news source. This is not your personal press release platform, and if you can't generate enough excitement about your product to get somebody to publish something about it (blogs don't count, sorry), then you need to go right back to the drawing board. Good luck.

This is called pure honesty. I hope you can handle it.

Thank you for this correction. Now correct the title to make it look something like this: [6-23-2014] Cryptobiz Magazine - Yesbitcoin Plans to Make BTC Household Name

I really like the mission of this project and am starting a company to work towards the same goal using different methods. I wish you much success in the future.

It's all about education. I just read an article on Coindesk I believe where it said the majority of people polled thought Bitcoin should be banned. I'm sure if these people were educated on Bitcoin their opinions would certainly change!

Great idea!  Education obviously needed.  My personal experience with people's attitudes regarding bitcoin I found very much inline with the CoinDesk article findings.  Education is always the key to dispelling fears based completely in ignorance.

Wish you all the best with your non-profit venture.
