I think this may be an interesting way to get people involved with bitcoin.

Not all of the details have been thought out but I figured I would put the idea out there to spark some discussion and thought on the topic.

There could be more than one Bitcoin Bikini Contest.

It could be called the BITKINI CONTEST.  ;D

Anyways I'm interested in other people's thoughts etc.

Maybe put together a website that promotes the idea and lets girls sign up. Then let contestants send in pics and short vids of themselves in sexy poses with some type of Bitcoin related theme tied into their photos/vids.

Then let people vote on who they like the best. Maybe have different categories as well. Winners of each category get some type of Bitcoin related prize or a payout in btc.

Just throwing some stuff out there.

Back on topic...these contests could be used in conjunction with bitcoin conferences around the world. Just an idea.

Tying it into the Bitcoin conf is a good idea.

There are so many ways one could go with this. And as long as there is a good mix of beautiful women in bikinis promoting bitcoin, no one way is wrong ;)

If it is the Miss Bitcoin road....judges can actually check to see if the contestants have a brain as well.

Rather than Bikini contest, if we can have a Beauty contest, like Ms. World or Ms. Universe ....that may help in spreading the word Bitcoin among non-tech people.

Yes that is what we are also discussing now. But a bikini contest can be a subset of the "beauty contest".

Just an idea to mix it up a bit.

whens this happening,  can we send coins to the  contestants  address  and the address with the most is   crowned.   and the other contestants  can make some coin  and not waste their time.

When you can have Girls Gone Bitcoin, why not have a bitcoin bikini contest. ;D

Where will it be held?  Online?

Voting will be based on bitcoin donation?

That is all up for discussion.

I like the idea of using the technology to prove that voting/elections can use for validity of results.

It's Summertime and the season for Bikini's
My question would be how the contest would be done
Webcamera photos etc.
Or get as many people in an area to go to one place and make it an annual Bitcoin event
The prize pool is easier a donation address and a ticket address if their is a venue for Bitcoiners to unite and visit

Not really.

You just give the entrants incentive to enter. You can say $10,000 prize winner in bitcoin or fiat.

I'm sure you will see many contestants show up.

Your right it wouldn't matter if the prize was converted to fiat with a Bitcoin claim option available
If there was 10,000 dollar prize people will come probably not worldwide but from fairly far away to try out
Could even make it a bit more to see if they will bite in terms of Bitcoin versus the fiat rate

That said the location still matters and what type of Bitcoin themes / sponsors you could get for the event
Besides the challenges of course besides the traditional bikini contest some fun games to compete in would be nice.

Something like beach volleyball or pool soccer, capture the flag in the water (or two people work together and you go for headbands with 3 needed for the next round) as an elimination game those sort of things.

now back on topic. turning bitcoin conferences into bikini contests are why women dont go to conferences .. too many geeks that visualizing women for their beauty and not their mind.
(research the many threads where the men of bitcoin think there are no female bitcoiners, simply because they dont see them at conferences)
from the other perspective, there are lots of females, but none like to go to conferences due to the males impression of why females are there.

how about spending more time on good bitcoin PR rather then the already male centered industry becoming more male centered

You could undoubtedly come up with all kinds of prize sub-categories as well:

1.) Smoothest looking QR code cheek
or
2.) Hottest girl with ugliest mining rig setup (assuming you can actually find any that mine :p)

for those of you who don't know, the BitPay founders Galippi and Pair, were very involved in bikini magazines before Bitcoin and as they transitioned into BitPay.  they used to use them as click bait in the early days to bootstrap their business.  i for one was always clickin'.

this explains why their booth at conferences are surrounded by babes; they have a ready and willing population of girls who'd probably be thrilled at such a contest.

I think it can start online. The format may be like this...

1. Participants may post their pics online. The highest votes received from verified FB profiles will cut through the second round.

2. Second round will have youtube video posting (may be introduction + a performance). Then again highest votes received from verified FB profiles will cut through the third round.

3. Third round needs to be hosted at some place for final selection of the winners. Judges panel for the final round may be those contributing highest BTC for the whole process (may be top 5).

How to run the online episodes ? We may learn from MTV Roadies (http://mtv.in.com/roadies/).

come to think about it. if the contest was done by voting for the favourite girl using dust amounts of satoshis as votes.

this may be a way to get a few neanderthals to start using bitcoin, instead of just the old geek crowd that usually attends bitcoin events.

but if it is just going to be don, "inhouse" during a pre-booked conference, then the only attendees are those already 'in the know' about bitoins and the whole PR stunt is not about helping expand bitcoin. but simply be some entertainment between geek-talks

something like this should be done at a sex industry conference
where maybe a female model (in agreement of course) will slowly strip down when her QR code displayed address, gets certain value targets hit. EG for very 2btc total received, item of clothing is removed. - then watch all the attendees throw micro payments at her qr code whilst learning how to buy bitcoins and use them for the first time

Miss Bitcoin is probably the best btc marketing idea I've heard. Good way to get attention for sure.

If we really wanna do it ...we should be careful that it does not end up as a porn show. That would be a hindrance to go mainstream. Its a good idea to have the vote through bitcoin.

why not let the girls benefit from the voting by sending them btc directly which they can keep?  whoever accumulates the most btc wins the contest with the award being the btc itself.

I mine and I'm a girl! :) I agree with the guy who suggested this contest should include difficult questions about Bitcoin knowledge and so on, it needs to be Bitcoin related not just random bikini pics!

This is an important factor that not all the BTC using people are tech people...so if we want to involve every types of people.... We need this sort of innovative ideas....

Innovative ideas is the only way forward, PR is so important, it can mark the beginning and/or the end of pretty much everything. I wiish there were more girls on here, we are really good at PR and coming up with innovative promoting ideas, Pr stunts, etc etc.

Yea, I had the same idea, with the same name for a site, where they post for bitcoin. Similar to what was on reddit a while ago. Put a QR code on the bikini and people donate if they like it.

To proof if it's really them, people on the site, can ask for a specific pose, as proof.

A perfect opportunity to make some extra money, and you do not have to go nude or semi-nude. Have a age restriction, if you really want to protect under age people from doing this, but they pose on other platforms in any way, so nobody will be able to stop anyone from posting clothed pictures. Site moderators just delete any underage looking pictures, before they are posted on the site.

Have a competition for men too, to make things fair to both sexes.  ;D ;D

I think donations are a great idea in general, for everything and anything, not just for naked girls, like, that guy wore a bikini (if its him) and that deserves some kudos, dont you think?
I think the future of music and art could be linked to donations too. A way to show appreciation through donations.
Donating to girls in a bikini doesnt make any sense, just google bikini pics and you get tons of pics to look at.
