Title: Cryptsy has fixed a recent site issue :)
Post by: Bit_Happy on June 25, 2014, 05:05:01 PM
EDIT:
The exact issue that started this thread has been fixed, and their site is working better now.  :)

Original post:
A day or two ago cryptsy.com made changes to their graphs and possibly other "upgrades".
Since then their site has been even slower than their normal slowness, and there are frequent "page not responding" errors given by Google Chrome browser. It is literally HELL to try to use their site, due to the frequent freezing up.

Note: My computer has a decent CPU, and I could use more memory, but if 99.998% of all websites do not crash my computer, then cryptsy.com should not leave me waiting ~89% of the time I enter an order. WTF! Could they possibly start over and hire the Dev from btc-e......  .....LOL?

Edit: Checking to see if I was accurate enough, and the page froze right away.
Cryptsy you need to not be such a slow site!

I'm OK with nobody from the forum replying, but isn't Cryptsy.com interested in public relations and telling people how/why/when things will get better?

ps. I complain because I like Cryptsy and really want to see it get better.

No other website freezes my computer like Cryptsy does.
....so even if I have many programs open and am "low" on memory, their site should not cause repeated freezing when no other web sites do.

My friend uses Cryptsy and I hear him complain about it about 2 or 3 times a week.  When I ask him why he still uses them he says because of the sheer number of coins they support.  Could this be a likely cause for bad performance?

next time you have trouble you should check this

http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/cryptsy.com.html

if you are not the only one, then come talk, if it is just you though (the site says cryptsy is up and gives good ping time, then try going to fire fox or figuring out how to clear your cache of your browser and reload it then, when I have trouble with a site that usually fixes it unless that site tells me it is actually down.

possibility at the time you access the site at that time they were doing repairs,
I think this time cryptsy normal, and there was no trouble,
today my transaction smoothly.

if you've checked back today to try to open a website?

lol - they should think twice before doing it. I used cryptsy once and did not have any problems with their interface.
hope soon they'll fix it.

Cryptsy has always been faulty. Downtime, server 503 errors, slow fund release when you cancel a trade, lags in between having your trades show up.

I could right now go sell my BTC for DRK, cancel the DRK trade and without any doubt there would be a lag in the return funds time. The trade would show up as Open up at the top of the page and the balances would not reflect the cancelled trade.

They've always sucked and always will.

FYI: My main concern isn't downtime, but a VERY poorly designed site (i.e. Cryptsy vs. BTC-e)
The "live updates" (left-sidebar) and other things use an INSANE amount of memory/tab compared to most websites.

Cryptsy.com is the shittiest exchange platform in the world! They took my money and act like they dont freakin care! I contacted their support numerous times and they just kept asking is the problem persist  >:( At the end the just closed my case. I will never trade on cryptsy again in my live!Cryptsy is SCAM

It's working completely fine for me. However, I also don't have many balances on the site. You might want to try another browser and see if that helps.

Yeah, cryptsy always infuriates me. The deposit/withdrawal/order flow are all slowed by their large traffic. Honestly, with their growing user base, I do not know why they won't upgrade their site to make it more "instant." Usually, writing a support ticket speeds things up but they are definitely slow and screw up trading.

Just made a deposit on BTER.com. It didn't go through for hours, but the customer support was pretty good. Worked out fine. But they are slow too. Nature of this business as of the moment.

The exact issue that started this thread has been fixed. I am 98% certain the "truly horrible" website performance was related to the upgrades they made on the charts (and the way the data loads from the server)
Cryptsy dev(s) have probably added "window.onload = function()", or something similar, since it is dramatically better now.  :)
