Coupled with AMD drivers (http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/Windows8ConsumerPreviewDrivers.aspx)(1), it could make a free Windows-based mining platform. Anyone interested in playing with this? Notes: (1) Latest version of AMD drivers for Windows 8 Preview doest not support hd7000 series cards yet. 7xxx owners please stay tuned, update should be available within a couple of weeks. Miner = CGMiner 2.0.2, default settings, intensity=4 (process was tuned to use one core and priority was set to realtime) To change the SDK's I used I put the opencl.dll file in the cgminer folder. When the Mhashes current value in CGMiner stayed at the same value for 3 seconds or so I screenshoted it. It's called Windows To Go (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_To_Go) and will probably not be a feature of the consumer versions (i.e. it will probably be for the Enterprise version only) Title: Re: Windows 8 Consumer Preview ISO images Post by: cuz0882 on March 11, 2012, 05:25:16 AM There are people who pay money for windows?
