Not sure if trolling but the core is a metal alloy of some sort

Why would you think it's hollow? It would collapse under the pressure of gravity

How do you know it is solid and doesn't resemble the form of an atom?

Dank trolling? Never! ;)

Still, there are a lot of fringe groups that believe that the Earth is mostly hollow inside, or that relatively small regions are, and that people/other humanoid creatures inhabit within.

See for example: http://www.ourhollowearth.com/ (http://www.ourhollowearth.com/) (and leave your rationality at the door).

Quote
Located at 87.7 degrees North and South Latitude are Polar Openings
that lead into the hollow interior of our planet where the Lost Ten Tribes of Israel today dwell
in perfect harmony, with life spans equal to those of the Methuselahs of the Bible,
whose only desire is to live in peace.  Their flying saucers in defense of their
country at times are seen on our surface world.  They don't come to destroy, they are waiting...

Attempting to play the devil's advocate here, those things don't necessarily imply the Earth, or more likely, some regions within the planet, couldn't be hollow. Oil would in theory form even if the Earth was hollow, with little more than the crust. Magnetism and gravity would require there to be something inside I suppose, though if the hollow region(s) were relatively small, they could perhaps go by unnoticed. In this case, for the "whole" Earth to be hollow, there would still need to be something equivalent to the core inside, and some as yet unknown material covering the inside of the crust to prevent the whole planet from collapsing (just don't ask me how the planet could have been formed that way). :P

On the other hand, seismic waves give us a very good idea of the interior composition of the planet; unless there is something fundamentally wrong with our understanding of them, they negate the idea that the Earth could be hollow, or even that large regions are, especially when combined with the other methods.

Sorry, it's not possible for many reasons...

There may be large geodes within the Earth, but that's about it...

Think about it; the Earth and other planets were formed violently. Upon the creation of our solar system the Earth was completely molten. The heavier elements sank to the center of the Earth to form our core. The rotation of our core gives us our magnetic field...

If the Earth were hollow then a cosmic collision would simply punch a hole in the Earth. That doesn't happen...

However, you could compare the Earth to a very large electric generator/DC motor...

A mysterious giant crater has been discovered in a remote part of Siberia, dubbed by locals ‘the end of the world’, and is now puzzling scientists. The team arrives on Wednesday to survey the seemingly bottomless pit, located in one of Russia’s northernmost points, at a latitude closer to that of Greenland than Canada.

400 years ago they would have chopped your head off for saying that.

In fact, in Galeleo made a kick ass telescope and he was like "Hey you guys look at this.. The moons of Jupiter are not orbiting us, they are circling around Jupiter!"

The catholic pope was all like "Cool story, bro, but tell everyone you are a liar and possessed by the devil or we will torture you to death." Like a boss Galileo said "Fuck you, i'm looking at it move right now but fine whatever, I take it back." So the catholic church sentenced him to life in prison.

Wikipedia has the detailed version:

"Galileo was found "vehemently suspect of heresy", namely of having held the opinions that the Sun lies motionless at the centre of the universe, that the Earth is not at its centre and moves, and that one may hold and defend an opinion as probable after it has been declared contrary to Holy Scripture. He was required to "abjure, curse and detest" those opinions.
He was sentenced to formal imprisonment at the pleasure of the Inquisition. On the following day this was commuted to house arrest, which he remained under for the rest of his life." -http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galileo_Galilei

The universe is a 6 dimensional computer, our DNA is our dimensional program.

Nothing is real, it's all virtual reality.

Energy running around a 6 dimensional processor creating the illusion of being.

If atoms were real, think about it, on a micro level your body would be like a dot matrix picture, nothing solid.

Atoms are 99.999% air, yet you think you're solid.

Holographic universe, so yeah the earth is hollow it's 99.9999% air due to the concept of atomic structure.

By calculating the gravitational effect of the earth, scientists have found out that the mean density of earth is 5.515 g/cm3. But the crustal density is only 2 g/cm3. That means that the interior of the earth is much denser than the outer layers.

Remember that many people aren't religious, and/or don't believe he actually did do such a thing; after all, it's not like the stories you read about it were written at the time that supposedly happened. So, maybe he wasn't a troll, but you could say his followers (at least the ones who wrote the books) were. :P

Playing the devil's advocate here, that could just mean that relatively well distributed portions of the Earth were hollow, and the rest made up of a previously unknown denser material... yes, I know, I'm grasping at straws here. :P
