Hello All,

If any of you know me, then you know that I am associated with the Vericoin Team and I will be releasing some 1 oz .999 Fine Silver Physical Vericoins.

There will be 100 First Edition coins total with 7 set aside for the Vericoin Team and 55 set aside for each of the Donors that made this project possible. That leaves 38 coins available for the open market.  

Since the coins incorporate the new un-released logo I will not be able to post an accurate mock up of the coins until the new logo is released but if you want an idea of what the coin will look like then you can look here: https://imgur.com/a/7bA1I

Each coin will come enclosed in a plastic Airtite case and come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Coins will a have serialized tamper-eveident hologram and serialized CoA and come unfunded in accordance with US Money Transmitting Laws, but will be able to be funded by purchasers and will come with a 10 VRC Thank you donation to purchasers VRC wallet. International shipping available for an extra BTC0.05 or BTC0.1 for international orders with multiple coins.

Price is BTC0.1 per coin

Coin numbers available are #63 - #100

Payment will be BTC0.05 to reserve your coin with the other BTC0.05 due at time of shipping which should be around October - November of this year.

1 question: is the 0.05BTC refundable if before it comes time to deliver, I decide I don't want the coin for some reason?

yes minus TX fees and if you place a multi-coin order and back out of it a small 10% fee may be deducted as well, and if anyone has any ideas of playing the "oh the price of bitcoin went up so I'll cancel and re-order at lower price" game don't try because price will stay constant at 0.1BTC UNLESS the price of BTC breaks $1500 sorry to sound brusque but I am trying to keep shenanigans to a minimum.

very fair. My only concern is in the event we are at like 5k/btc at that time, many may want the 0.05 back instead of paying $500 for the coin :) If that is the case, consider me in for #94

October/November delivery time? Why so long?

The process should not take more than 6 weeks from start to finish.

The mint quoted me 1-2 week detail time to make sure the design fits and looks good then 10-12 weeks from time of payment to time of shipping, not to mention I have to wait another 26 days for the startjoin campaign to end and for funds to be released. So end of June + 26 days = end of July + 12-14 weeks = end of October beginning of November. Any further questions I can help you with?

You may want to shop around. I've experienced multiple shipments of coins that were designed, minted, and shipped in 6 weeks time.

Just a thought if you don't want to wait 3 months+ for your product based on their time frame quotes.

Sorry I didn't mean to freak you guys out by locking the thread I was just trying to prevent anyone else from trying to order coins since they are all sold out. I will leave the thread open for the purposes of updates on the coins. Once again I apologize if I made anyone panic.

UPDATE:

All coins will come with one non-serialized extra hologram for reloading purposes.

At time of shipping there will be extra non-serialized holograms for sale for 5 VRC a piece and also Metallic Vericoin logo stickers for 15 VRC a piece and as always 50% of profits go to the VeriFund to help support future Vericoin development.

UPDATE:

Monday or Tuesday I will be placing the final order for the coins and the stickers. The stickers should only take 10-14 days so they will be available for sale much sooner than the coins.

No problem, apparently nobody makes custom circular metal stickers so I can get metal foil that are not as durable or mylar laminate that is weatherproof and much much more durable. Thinking of going with the mylar laminate.

Sound to me like you should go for the mylar laminate, since it is the most durable. Vericoin is here to stay, and so are its physical coins.

UPDATE

Made the orders for the stickers, holograms, and boxes today and paid for them. I am waiting on a confirmation email from the mint for when the coins start getting minted so that will most likely happen tomorrow. The stickers, holograms and boxes will only take like 1-2 weeks before I get them but the coins will take 6-7 weeks so we are getting there.

Emailed the Mint last week sorry for not updating here my bad, they said the engravers are running a few days behind schedule so about another week or two before the die is ready and then 3 weeks or so for the actual minting process so looks to be on par for an end of Aug - mid Sep release (but don't forget about shipping times) so everything is still ahead of schedule compared to the initial ship estimate of Oct - Nov

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Got the First Impression and even did a hologram test everything fits and looks great the dies are currently being hardened and the coins will start getting struck on Friday so we are getting close to completion possibly another 3-4 weeks (excluding shipping times) pics below are of the First Impression (it is lead not silver so don't worry the actual coins will look prettier) and the hologram test

From the looks of it, the dies are not polished, so the coins won't have a proof finish to them? This would be considered business strike I assume.

How will users know the address of each coin?

Also I assume these coins are without face value and operate more like silver wallets?

Each coin comes with a Certificate of Authenticity that will have the public address AND QR code on it and you are correct the First Edition coins do not have a Face Value attached

Just a suggestion:

Having the address somewhere visible on the coin itself will make it much less of a hassle should an owner of a coin loser their COA which has the address associated with it, especially if they buy more than one coin.

As far as I can tell the only distinction is the number on the hologram to help figure out (on your end) should a COA go missing at some point, to determine the coin address.

Just some thoughts.

Noted, problem was to make custom holograms with the "window" all the hologram manufacturers I spoke to wanted $3000 - $5000 just for custom dies which is money I don't have, and If I had each coin number sequentially that would have been another few hundred per coin because each coin would have required its own mould, If you know ways around these two issues I am open to suggestions, thanks

Numbering coins in a relatively cost effective manner would be via an engraving machine. This would remove having to make a new die for each coin and would allow you to do it for future coin runs should you create any new lines of coins.

I'm not sure what you budget is but that might be an avenue to look into.

AHHHHH good Idea I can look into it that would be MUCH more cost effective then an individual die for each coin

UPDATE:

I have the first 50 coins assembled but opening all the Airtite cases ripped up my finger nails (literally, there is bleeding under several of my fingernails) so I will have to take a break from assembling for a few days in the mean time I will begin working on the Certificates of Authenticity.

I recommend using a thin knife to open the airtights. It will not touch the coin, and any mark left on the case is tiny and better then having ruined nails.

On an unrelated note, are they supposed to be called airtites or air-tights ... I never came to a conclusion

I usually use the blade of a scissors to open them.

ya think I might try the scissors trick, I didn't want to mark up the cases which is why I didn't try it, The damn Mint apparently didn't package the cases well enough I have found  one case with a slight crack in it

good news everyone for those of you that have paid I have everything filled out I am putting the finishing touches on the packages and will be sending them out in about an hr or two since everyone decided on the standard shipping my international friends I cant honestly say how long it will take to get to you could be a few days could be a few weeks but my friends here in the USA should get their coins some time next week or so

Not sure why keeping addresses on your end would matter. For coins I have funded I kept the addresses so it makes it a simpler process for funding. Instead of asking for the addresses again.

yeah- I have talked to him on Twitter. I was the 8th person to purchase one on StartJoin- June 8th, I think. I even sent Socal 13.00 USD in Btc for shipping- in OCTOBER. He is always complaining about payday and shit- he just keeps lying to me. I haven't heard from him since November 15th. Attached is our last conversation. The guy is seriously slow-dragging. Notice how he said that If I sent him postage in Btc he would ship my coin out IMMEDIATELY after selling the bitcoin? yeah, that was on OCTOBER 22nd (the day I sent him shipping money). What a POS he is acting like, and StartJoin is... (BTW, I have 'donated' hundreds to a few projects, and I have had this happen with every one- NO REWARD EVER RECEIVED FROM ANY STARTJOIN-HOSTED PROJECT.

Socal just messaged me on Twitter 10 minutes ago with a tracking number for my coin, offered to return the btc i sent for shipping, and thanked me for my patience. Communication is the key here.

I suppose we know his identity and real name, so theres a last resort of calling him and much if it turns out its a scam. I really dont think it is; just incompetence.

It's a real shame it's come to this for some of you, I received my coin several months ago.

Well, mostly there are more reasons then just "don't want to send them". Perhaps he had personal issues or something else on his mind lately. As far as i know he is a respected member on BCT, so let's give him some room. He told me and somebody else that he would send them this week trough USPS from USA, so lets wait and see.

I also received my coin a few months ago, but we had similar concerns back then when we were left waiting for days/weeks from the OP for updates.

I was the very very first person to donate and order, rite before pnoskar.  I am sure Socal will send them he is a good guy. I have not received mine and I still believe he is a good guy and will eventually send them. Just be patient guys, also keep in mind 999 silver Maxcoin didnt start their coin offering until a month after Socal and they are still waiting.

I received mine, with a coa and in the wooden presentation box. Got it last week. I was the 8th 'donor' on Startjoin.

This is one reason I always ship my physical coins through USPS registered mail and insure it for the value it was paid for.

It removes the option of losing coins as to date I have not lost a single package shipping that method.

You may want to try that in the future.
