It is a static Chinese Yuan denominated price since the miner are hosted in China (where electricity is cheapest). The equivalent amount of CNY denominated in Bitcoin will be deducted as cost. Which is 0.0000055BTC per day as electricity cost (0.022/4000) if the miner is 1W per GH (like AntS2, 1000GH, and cost 1000W, which every GH cost 1W)

*Thought I would shoot you a little quick feedback on the site.  Overall I kinda like the design/layout, sort of reminds me of the "cloudy" feel of cex.io/ghash.io

Anyway, first thing I noticed was that several of the Popup window option selection's don't seem to display in English once I have selected that as my Display Language preference.

Second, spelling error under first drop-down menu, 4th option down has a mis-spelling.  Hash Moitor instead of 'Monitor'.

Third, and this is a biggie for me.  SMS 2FA capability only available for mainland China based numbers?!?!  This will discourage at least some (certainly me) from wanting to use your service I'm afraid.

Anyhoo, project looks interesting nonetheless.

Also2 - on miners page, I see some weird charts there. I have only 1Gh/s running now, but I see Ant S1 and Ant S2 charts, giving 1000 and 1400 Gh/s respectively. (only on chart, not in datatable)

i mean like : if there on sell list have 10 GH/s for 0.0013  and you want to buy 3 GH/s on price 0.0013 you must fill limit price with 0.00135 or more..

Okay, mining looks good so far and i've already received some earnings from it which i've invested in some new GHS. :)

The mining informations are a little bit minimalistic (no round info etc.) but it's okay.
Under "Hash" the option "Mining Moitor" still misses his "n". ;)

Heh, actually Snowball is based in China. Forgive them for the English thing...y.... At least there are no "you're" "your" replacement and you get extra cheap electricity, maintenance and shipping in return  ;)

Okay, so my Antminer S2 is hashing. Some glitches in the web-interface, though: Sometimes, the balance disappears for then re-appearing. This is a bit worrying.

What's definitively a no-go: If I want to withdraw BTC from my balance, I only get an error-message that the transaction failed - that's it. So no way at the moment to receive my Bitcoins  ???

We apologize on the inconvenience caused on you. Since a major part of our mining revenue is deposited into a cold wallet instead of stuffing them into the hot wallet directly for increasing the security of the funds. Our wallets are emptied after some recent withdraws. We've now restocked our hot wallet, sorry for troubling you to re-submit your withdraw request.

We'd like to hear your reflection if there are any issues or suggestions in the future.

Okay, now the withdrawal worked. But it would be convenient if this would be communicated to the clients on your homepage once they want to withdraw  - or a message which says that you have received the request for a withdraw and then you could perform it by hand...

Okay, menwhile I bought the second S2. It should be hashing with snowball.io soon, and then a couple of S3 should soon arrive there. The main problem are some issues with the Chinese-English translation. But most of this can be solved by trying.

All issues were until now solved very quickly, i.e. the guys behind snowball.io are really quick. Let me see where I stand in a month...

How much is the gh now actually and how many gh i can buy ?

First we start off with the structure of the system. Miners that users buy through us or that users send to us will be deployed in our farm and converted to corresponding GH power. You have the ability to increase and reduce the supply of GH on the platform by sending us or redeeming the miner respectively.

Given that our farm currently holds up to 1000kW, there is a lot of room for us to expand.

To get some GH, you may try out by leaving your username here and we will send you 1 GH of AntminerS1 for you to try out. Getting into real business, you may trade GHs with our users on the order book, or even buy a miner through us with our competitive price negotiated with the manufacturer.

So far in 2 weeks time since our launch, we are gaining userbase steadily, running 15TH of miners. All miners are issued by our users by sending them to us or buying them through us. Our service would like to create a fair market and would not trade against our users. And as you've seen in the previous posts, our manager is attempting to negotiate partnership and offer users the most competitive price on the market. As you might know, one of the advantages from us is that we offer far better pricing on both miners and maintenance cost over our competitors

No free GHS received either, site is a bit dysfunctional, giving up on this.

Please allow our admin to deal with the negotiation of miner pricing first, he is currently on trip and sure do I know you are desperate on the GH. Yet I have no power over the system and I could not give you the GH as I wish to do ASAP and fulfill everyone's hope. I guess i will try to answer this in another way. Currently there are ~17000GH on our platform and you can feel free to buy them up as long as those users are willing to sell. You can also buy GH by getting new miners through us, which really depends on the volume that they can roll out to us.

Since I am not in the operational stuff, I can't confirm you the exact value. But in short, the GH available instantly for you is ~17000 and we can deploy a decent amount (my guess is 10-100TH) within 1-2 days.

I have not yet invested I like to wait a bit before making an investment and its hard to buy btc in my country unless I go through virwox which charges an arm and a leg.

The gh there are no longer 0.0014 and OP should have change the title the selling price i saw were more than 0.003

I invested 0.35BTC on the miners, since the price of hashes shot up a bit sold and profit about 0.05
PS: I am also serving as customer service on BitcoinTalk for them as I am the only Chinese in the community of Snowball that speaks english well enough

I've also invested in them, having around 200 Ghs now and i have nothing to complain about their service. Buying and selling Ghs runs very smoothly. :)

My opinion:
So far so good for they've launched 3 months. Thou liquidity is still a bit of a problem, since they charge no fee on trades, I guess this will gradually solve with more users finding this a great place :)

Additionally I've got a friend who want to toss his Avalon  hashes ASAP for trading in ANTS3, if you want to have some Avalon 3, I can contact him to make a deal for you, he is quite desperate about buying S3 so you might have a chance to get some cheap hashes (~250-300GH that he wants to sell, accept lower than source price if you buy in batch)

Actually, I have two S2 running with them and some S3 ordered. Until now not bad - the fees are reasonable, and just by trading some GH/s, I'm already getting closer to ROI. So yes, there are some glitches, but it works.

Just to release some teaser on my boss recently (missing status)

He had been to ShenZhen AntMiner office to negotiate stuff (of which I can't disclose and I don't have full info on). And for things that could be negotiated for a week, it should be a decent good news for miners on Snowball.

Miner is currently working on BTCGuild as it is one of the most reputable and reliable pool with API, and does not double spend the Bitcoin network. We will make FAQ for better navigation for newcomers. Thanks for you guys' support

wow you guys really have no support do you? I submitted a ticket I have been unable to set a pin as there is no option to set a pin. I cant just invest in a place where I can trade my ghs and have no support what so ever.

To get a pin you go to the hash trading menu and it will automatically ask for pin

Seems like a nice service and the prices per hash do seem to be lower than othe cloud hashing sites although it's quite confusing when prices in fiat are listed in Yen rather the USD. Maybe there should be an option to change between currencies. Also, there are  some typos such as:


No noise, heat & radiation, Without (<---I suggest "No" instead of "Without") waiting & maintainance.

Other than that, the whole site looks clean, with a pretty neat design.

Anyone else experience a massive disparity between balance in miner status and waht gets paid out. It often shows 2 3 or even 4 times the amount that gets paid in the end. Its very misleading.

The 900GH deployed is the first batch that they've sent to us. As the current running hashes are what the earliest guy have ordered. As mentioned by AntMiner, they've some back orders on AntminersS3. Future miner shipments will be deployed to users in chronological order.
He expect the remaining users who have preordered will come in 2-4 days.

And for the 300CNY refund, it will be refunded to your account as soon as it pay us.

finally it didnt take me to the pin page when I would go for trade. But when I tried from the settings it did the job. What I had to do was do a forget pin link which emailed me the pin that apparently got auto generated. If your website does an auto generate you should email that pin to the user it was very confusing.

What about scrypt mining i know there is sfminer but no shares are on the market. The problem is I put so little litecoin in that now I can't take it out because if the fee, and the only reason I would I would want to take it out is because I have no idea what to do with the litecoin

Regarding to previous post that, AntMiner is having delay on their expected shipment date. For users that ordered Antminer S3 through our service, you may wish to have following action.

1. To claim a full refund and cancel the shipment
2. Continue to wait on your shipment, the expected shipping of the next batch starts from 25th. We will refund the difference (Price of batch 2 - Price of batch 1) to your accuont with equivalent amount of Bitcoin

Additionally for the refund coupon given by Antminer, as soon as it reaches our hands, we will credit the equivalent amount of Bitcoin to your account. Currently we have credited to whom have their S3 deployed and running through us. Amount is 7.7% of your order price.

Oky I would like to have the users review here on if one should invest in this service. What I have noticed so far.

Service is slow the only one ticket that has been replied to so far is by the rep on this forum no tickets have been resolved.
I didnt invest anything because I wanted to see how they worked before actually risking some btc so far I only had the 1 free ghs which for some reason hasent paid out in 2 days as my balance hasent increased. The ability of not being able to run your hardware on your own pool kind of sucks but with cloud hashing its kind of difficult so I guess this can be overlooked. While the first page states the cost we dont really know whats happening in the background like how much we are actually earning like we are able to check with other cloud hashing services.

So I would like to hear your thoughts and inform me if its still worth it. I am asking all the users who have actually purchased something from this site.

For my opinion it's worth to invest on snowball, the costs are lower and they are mining on btcguild, so there isn't any big additional extra costs on your earnings. For the GHS trading part i can say that i have nearly doubled my investments so far.

After the free GHS I sent some BITS and bought more GHS, then traded different GHS on the different miners finally purchasing a miner to have hosted there, still waiting on that to go online.

well after reading the reviews I sold the 1ghs free antminer s1 and bought 1 ghs antmier s2. Waiting for payouts at a few places then will throw some more this way and pick up more hashing power...

I did. Working smoothly, but it will of course take a couple of days or weeks to tell you if it is worth it. However, with the trading of hashes, you're getting closer to a ROI and don't have to worry about selling your hardware on crapbay...

Quick question, under [Hash] [Hash Trading] it requests user to please enter a trade password.  Apparently this is mandatory?  When I try to bypass it popups with a red dialog at the top in cantonese (?), just an FYI.  So you guys are actually requiring a separate trading password?  Interesting concept if so.

Also.  Under [Receiving BTC Address Book] it appears as though after adding my BTC address the what I believe is [Delete] button also needs to be translated to English when you get a chance :)

I am used to the way CEX and PBMining calculate everything and it is simple to me but Snowball fees as advertised on their site and what I am being charged seem different.

1.1 TH or 1,100 GH - according to Snowball website I should be charged JPY/YEN 0.02/GHS/Day (Japanese Yen) per GH per day. At current exchange rates this works out at just over USD 0.21 cents but I am being charged 3.88222 USD according to my Snowball transaction statement. Not sure if I am missing something, miscalculating or if something is wrong with the site. Edit: Maybe the power cost is not included? This would make the site less transparent than ideal to say the least.

Any help explaining this is greatly appreciated.

Fees are low but the payouts are also fuxking low, they are taking 70% maint fees you won't believe it.

I have 620G hardware pointed to F2Pool got 0.0146~0.0147 payouts everyday, sent snowball a ticket asking what is the reason they don't connect to F2Pool and they never you, they are cheating ppl on the daily payouts.

ANT S1 has the highest maintenance costs because they have a highpower consumption. So sell your S1 Ghs and buy more of S2 or even S3 etc. ;)

0.0022xxxx / day maint fee for a ANT S1 is acceptable and fair, the problems are the rewards given by them
1) they claimed they are mining at btcguild I really doubt it
2) both S1 and S2 are running 180G hashrate why they have a big difference in payouts? payouts count on machine type not hashrate?
3) They never reply to any tickets I raised
4) My last payouts were made on 8/10 15:21 CST, rec'd no payouts for over 40+ hours, are they now packing up and ready to go with our btc and machines

Conclusion is snowball.io may not a scam (for the current moment...)  but definitely he is not a honest business man, I myself being a native Chinese feeling shame at all.

This felt like a scam the moment i heard of it. Something similar to PBmining in my opinion, but since the management is chinese and they stopped posting on here quite a while ago, i knew that this would turn out to be a scam. Nearly fell for the lower prices... glad i stuck it out with CEX eventually even though the value of my GH/s has eroded over time. At least i didn't lose everything. Am i too early in saying this? Only time will tell!

I have tried their system since 2 weeks ago. I don't agree that this is a scam (at least up to this moment) but there are clearly room for improvement on the part of the admin.

I have purchased S3 hash power from them (from their hash power market direct), so far I am receiving my payout everyday to my wallet.
But I also notice that the hash power provided by them is about 3%-7% less than what you've actually purchased.
I bought 400 gh/s from their S3 trade market but their record shows that I was only mining at the rate of 385-390 GH/S.
As their rate is quite cheap so I am still ok with it.

I have also tried to withdraw my balance of BTC from their wallet and it has no problem to do so (my wallet is at coinbase)

I also note that the maintenance fee is not exactly constant each day, but the variance is not significant.

I have also tried to purchase S3 from them (the buy S3 button), they wrote the delivery date of the relevant hash power should be within 48 hrs from the time of submission,
but it clearly not true and the transaction was delayed. I have been waiting for 4 days already and my BTC was still locked by them. The admin replied to my ticket and said the hash power should be delivered by today or tomorrow. Hope they honor their promise. (remark: finally delivered and running. It took a week actually)

So it might be better to purchase from market direct.

I only have S3 Hash power, I forgot to include that after having to repost.  :(

I really don't understand the mentality of scammers, if indeed this is a scam, just saying in general. It would be far better to look at long term profits but then maybe scammers just want to steal quick BTC and not maintain and provide customer service with a site.

Other than the maintenance fee being off I have had no problems at all - I got my hash power pretty much instantly after my order was filled. I do not think it is a scam but they certainly lack any customer service it seems. I have not posted on their forums but I did open a support ticket. Weirdly enough as if it were a premonition, I asked about how maintenance fees were calculated before ordering any hash power. Maybe I should not have bothered at all. If it seems too good to be true then it probably is - as the saying goes. The maintenance fee for Antminer S3 just does not add up for me, unless I am being seriously dumb with my calc. but I doubt that.

A scammer would not publish his address. So the service of snowball may not need everybody's expectation, but this doesn't make them scammers.

The registration ID 310114002230568 belongs to a Shanghai Company named 上海碧银网络科技有限公司, registration date 2011 Jan 28, address Shanghai 嘉定区宝安公路2762号2幢2125室, I have no proof that snowball does not own the ID as they never shown us any supporting evidence.
Also they have no registration number shown on their home page make them more suspicious, these are the local web all doing bitcoin business, registration ID is required to show on the home page, at the bottom

Again: Their service may not be perfect, but it works. They are looking for programmers, post their names, their addresses, they contribute as programmers to other programs - so what's the point? The payout isn't as big as some want it to be - that's the nature of business. They are not as transparent as you want them to be? That's often the problem with small, new companies.

I invested in some miners with them, and yes: If they blow up, my money will be gone. At least a part of it. And yes: I would love to make more money out of my investment.

But I'm also sick of hearing everytime someone's greed isn't satisfied the scream "scammer".

so far I traded up the s1 1ghs I had to 1ghs s2. Still not sure if I should throw some btc this way. As their support seems really bad due to language barrier. So what would members of the service suggest.

I'm running there with several S2 and several S3. The fees seem sometimes a bit high, however, I just let it run and withdraw my BTC regularly. Furthermore, the closer I get towards ROI, I have started to sell GH/s and make some additional BTC. So for me there's no reason to complain at the moment.

I think their maintenance fees for S1 & S2 are on the high side. You may also note that the power consumption / maintenance fee of S2 is much higher than S3.
If you have BTC to spare, you should switch to S3 instead. The fees for S3 is lowest.

I am currently holding and accumulated up to about 1200GH/s S3 shares, so far I don't have any problem with receiving payouts from snowball.

The miners are directed to the pool of BITMAIN, aka ANTPOOL, which contributes 3% of the network at the time being. Just in case you wonder if all the hashes are just on the book or actually real.


Until the miner is no longer profitable, which the mined amount equals to the maintenance fee of the machine. You may redeem the shares of GH to actual machine of the farm if you still wish to mine (or at least look like a Bitcoiner)
