To watch movies at work.

Been surfing the web on a 17" laptop the last 5 years.  Rarely go to my big desktop anymore.

Watching movies, listening music, posting here.

I use my laptop usually for gaming, like dota 2 and ac4, which are the games i am playing like now, when im not playing im usually browsing the net and right now posting here.  ;D

Pretty much what everyone else already said plus a couple more: Watching movies, surfing the web, learning about random things off Wikipedia, reading ebooks, posting on forums, listening to music, email, news, online banking, typing stuff, mucking about with programming languages but never getting anywhere, etc.

Not really that much into gaming however. I might be if my laptop wasn't 10 years old. ;D

EDIT: Oh, and Bitcoin too. Not mining of course but just running my Electrum wallet.

I used my laptop for everything until I upgraded my PC ,from writing to 3D designing  :)

I use my laptop to remote into my desktop.

Kidding aside I only use it at work....and if I bring it home, I will use it to monitor fantasy football stats...haha

I use my laptop for running my company, streaming my game play, watch movies, and lots of reading.

Mainly browsing and streaming music/movies, sending emails and I occasionally do some graphic design  :D

Talking to people such as reddit and twitter and bitcoin!!

So the question is " How you Use Your Laptop ? "

I tend to keep my laptop plugged in which kills the battery and now it only lasts 5 mins when left off the charger

I don't use a desktop PC anymore. I do most of my work on laptops, normal web stuff on my tablet. I have a laptop for office work, another one for private stuff and an old one for bitcoin only. Desktop is a nice thing to have when you always work in the same place, but I travel a fair bit. Sizing down to laptops is inevitable.

I don't usually use laptop. I when at home I am using my standard PC desktop. My laptop is too old to play recent games on it. So I use it only for data storage and net browsing

it goes in my living room, to watch tv shows/movies via widi.. and to browse when i'm watching tv.

I'm mostly using my laptop for school, I go to college online which consumes about 100% of my time nowadays because now I'm a junior and getting towards the end of my degree. Other times I just web browse, I can't mine, and I can't play games on it.

Or I just doodle around in photoshop, and make stupid gifs out of movies.

I don't really use my laptop for much because it isn't powerful enough to do the things I want it to do. :(

To play games and watch movies

I bought a net book for use while I was in college, it worked well for playing online between class and doing school work. I then converted my desktop into a dedicated bitcoin rig and was forced to use the laptop for everything at home. I've recently reclaimed my desktop and now the net book has been running a few gridseeds for me.

eh laptops are disappointing.. more expensive now, and there's always some sort of flaw that makes it a pain. i like my current laptop, but it's too big considering it's a 13.3 "ultrabook."

 So basically rdp, putty, sum type if video player like divx and a browser. Its literally falling apart. I might get a new one this week. It sucks in Aus a laptop might be $1300 but in bestbuy in the Usa its like $400 :(

I've never had a problem with my laptops being too big. But they are getting more expensive and becoming a pain to replace and they are more prone to drops and bangs because they are portable.

Mostly for work, browse the web, and watch movies. (used to play league of legends, but I hardly do that anymore)

my laptop is a 13.3 ultrabook but it's probably bigger than a regular 14" ultrabook.. it's a nice machine though, but just too heavy and big to be convenient.

Anyway to the op question I use my laptop for personal use only and don't use it for work or anything because i like to keep things separate.

Glad to see nobody is using their laptops for watching porn. Considering the number of teenage male computer geeks who post here and the recent popularity of Wankcoin, I'm impressed. ;D

I am online marketer and mostly use my LAPTOP for various online business promotioons, for watching movies when I am tired of work
I also use the same for accessing facebook and few more social network sites.
Accessing gmail using laptop is another way where i use the Laptop. I always keep my LAPTOP with me so that I am always connected with world

I used to mine with my laptop back when altcoins were new and fresh.

Now I just use it to watch tv shows on and porn.

I use it for all the things i would do on PC, i don't own a PC since i went to college. I play games on it (crysis 2, PAYDay....), i do home stuff (videos, photos, word, excell...) i even watch movies on it, but recently my battery died, even if i didn't use it too much on battery.

I was using it to play around with OpenGl and see if I could do something cool with it. Ended up having problems with the GPU instead (it was an old laptop).  :'(

The best of all, MacBook Air. And if you're not using that, well, you failed in life. Kind of like people that sleep on a twin bed. :)

I work on laptop.
Also look at website, watch movies, etc.

Mainly off time work. If need to be done something with some web site or upload data, go to client and show him how it looks what can be done.

Sometimes kid plays online games and chat with him school friends.

Currently I'm playing Civ 5 in bed while listening to late night TV.  ah the convenience of "modern" technology

It's usually off until I have some work to do. My desktop is where I spend most of my time.

on bed.. while I sit up.. probably not the best for the back.

My laptop is about 15 years old so I don't do too much on it.
But when I do it's pretty much shuffling files around when I'm out in the field.
Some web browsing. I need to retire it but it just keeps going.
Dell cpix 233 mhz :P shame they are throwaways and modding is limited.

I use my laptop for 12 hours in a day. I use my laptop for watching movies, playing games and also for net surfing. Because i am a freelancer and making good amount of money.

My laptop has become pretty stationary.  It's 17'' screen to begin with, so it's on the heavy side.  Now, the battery is shot, i have it plugged to another monitor as well as speakers.  So it doesn't move much, but i still prefer it to a desktop, because I can take it somewhere when I travel.  Hoping to get a new one some day, since this is 4-5 yrs old now  :-\

surf the internet, watch movies and sometimes download music apps.

To post on forum and do almost all my internet stuff.

Don't use for games, however.

I use mostly to post and make online courses.
Also for downloads.

internet surfing, video watching and that is all, no gaming. I do gaming on PC sometimes.

Use laptop for gaming...

Just for browsing and watching movies.

Taking it to the university, games, web, chatting on Skype, watch videos and programming.

I can't game on my laptop as it is only a cheap little thing but it does everything else I need to do on the go.

Think you should switch back to a desktop... it's definitely better than laptops. Comfortable too if you have a good rig.

I used to use mine for mining back in november/december 2013. I mined altcoins with it and got some profit, with my profits I bought a mining rig, with those profits I decided not to buy shit anymore cause too many are mining nowadays. :D

For general purpose, but mainly for Games and Movies.

I am using my laptop for making money and watching movies. I also use it for playing Games and using internet. I think most of the users are using their laptops for such kind of purpose.

A bunch of stupid peoples are found around the internet and I am typing this from my laptop currently,stupid BRO!!

I actually need a new one. Currently im just using it handle when im outside doing work @ starbucks.

i am using my laptop to watch movies but sometimes to work a little bit .

Use my laptop for everything, game, reading forum etc.

Gaming on LAN with friends and browsing shit, not much else.

I play Starcraft 2 on my 2 hour daily train travelings.

I use my laptop when I travel to places because I don't want to carry a large desktop computer everywhere I go.

Pretty much this. :D It controls the media PC and daughter's because I ran out of working wireless keyboards (some broke, some daughter pulled keys off of and lost/hid). It has a more powerful CPU than any other computer in the house, ironically, but I can't stand using a touchpad and there's not really anywhere to use a mouse in the living room unless I get one of those laptop dinner trays, and then what the Hell's the point? I do bring it along for travel and use during power outages, though. Always hurts my neck no matter how I try to use it, though.

These are mostly also the reasons I hate cell phones, except my phone can't even handle emulating a real OS well. :D

Mainly for work, 10% of time it's downloading stuff from internet.

I used to use it for gaming now I just use it for motion graphics and video editing for school.

I have only an old laptop which I use to store some cold storage wallets.
