We believe that being able to deploy initially to the community is a good thing. Not necessarily have to be bad stocks, basically we are talking about the amateur radio community that is based on helping others.
Not everyone has the knowledge and ability to have virtual currency, aid there seems nothing wrong to introduce them to these new products.

The amateur radio community in the world is always full of initiatives in every field, events and much more.
On the various websites to notify such events and in what way it will be possible to receive money and to do that you will use reserves premining.
I understand your concern for 10%, but everything is done in the spirit of this community.

There is no way you can prove you will use the 10% for making your coin a succes.

Sure, here and there you will distribute a small amount of your premine, but you are GREEDY!

Your only purpose is to dump the premine and leave. Not in a hundred years you will get merchants to get involved with this coin.

If it was just 1% there wouldn't be a problem, but come on! 10% ? Really ?

Fair devs launch coins with 0% premine, and they invest their own money and time in that project to get it off the ground.

Premining has advantages though.
It gives the honest developers power to do good: They can use it for promotions like giveaways, which strengthens the coin.
They can buy some reinforcements like hosting, graphics design, or tool developers.
And this is our think for ham radio community!
You can not live thinking that all they do to make fraud or other negative. Ultimately already 'been giving confidence or not to currencies which in reality' does not even exist. Everything is based on trust.

I didn't say premine is bad, but you can't expect people to put time and effort into mining something with 10% premine.

You could have chosen for 1% that would have been much better, and also you would attract a lot more people.

You have not written down anything about what exactly you will do with the premine.

Be more transparent about everything, provide more detailed information, future plans, give examples, etc.

We all know the importance of this Marconian memorial station and the interest that it generates worldwide, and the symbolic significance it has on the air and in worldwide radio contests.

Our proposal is to promote a large collaboration among all radio amateurs in the world and enthusiasts of the radio communications universe, and the manufacturers, so that anyone –nobody excluded– could be involved and participate to this unique project.

In this scenario we support the possibility to make an even minimal donation to improve the station and its antennas, in order to be more competitive in the contests at an European level and to improve its activity on the bands.

We want to bring back team spirit, fun and collaboration in the activities that will be held at the IY4FGM memorial station.

With our project we are safeguarding a world heritage site, that very site where the young Guglielmo Marconi carried out his first experiments about the radio and made all this “magic” a reality.

This fundraising campaign will end in October 2014, at the third HamRadioWeb HF Convention, that will be held at the Marconi Foundation in Villa Griffone - Pontecchio Marconi, Bologna, Italy.

At the event an official ceremony will be held, and a plate –engraved with the callsigns and names of all the donors who contributed to this project– will be permanently affixed inside the IY4FGM Memorial Station.

The CENTO DX Team and IZ4FTB Nicola, IY4FGM’s manager, will evaluate the best offer proposed by the manufacturers, and will look for sponsorships.

All raised funds will be uniquely used for IY4FGM improvement, and not even a cent will be spent elsewhere.

For that matter any AM/FM/Satellite radio station could broadcast the audio signal from the headphone/out jack on a radio to the Mic/audio in jack on any PC. It's simpler than it sounds.

I hope too for you. What kind of antenna you plan to use for the reception?

I will use the stock antenna to set it up, then add my "Ham it up upconverter" and a 18" uhf/vhf from my handheld. Im ordering a portable j pole roll up antenna for my portable handheld transceiver, also that can double for the SDR receiver, only thing is I have a penthouse condo so I have the height I'm 180' up in the air, but I can't be mounting a beam and rotor on my balcony... LOL  any Ideas?

With the standard antenna you can receive any broadcast radio on FM band and repeater near you.
You could use a vertical multiband since you are high from ground and with that you can expect to receive something in HF.

From 13 Oct. 2014 recommend using the PSK63 mode for sending the address HAM on air!

In PSK63 it occupies less bandwidth than SSTV and you can make a comfortable copy/paste of the address wallet.

HOW TO USE:  Transmit the usual CQ to make a normal PSK63 QSO. When you submit your data as QTH, Locator, etc.. add a line like "HAMcoin: 1dsTgf .........." repeating it twice to be sure.

Your informations sent on air looks like this example:

QTH: London

Locator: XX00xx

HAMcoin: 1dsTgf.......  /  1dsTgf......

In the programmed faucet over the air all stations will be properly received shortly after 10 HAM accredited in its portfolio.

We recommend that you publish your address also in the QRZ.com page in order to avoid errors in transcription for sending HAM.

We open this topic to explain in broad terms those who are amateur radio operators and what they do.
Although there are still millions around the world, most people do not know or do not know exactly what to do.
Few amateurs know the crypto currency and vice versa few lovers of currencies known radio amateurs. Our currency also aims to bring these two worlds.

Meanwhile, we say that the amateur is recognized as a service in the various countries of the world and not just a hobby.
A ham radio operator to be such, must pass a test or series of tests (depending on the laws of their country) and later obtained a license to transmit and a callsign unique in the world by international conventions.

Amateur radio operators in the event of natural disasters or other issues are the only ones who can put immediately in contact with any part of the world (thanks to their widespread presence everywhere) via short-wave frequencies. This is due to ionospheric propagation, the signal bounces off the ionosphere and back ground at different points.

Amateur radio operators have also provided a number of non-geostationary satellites in orbit to communicate. Above a frequency on the VHF band can contact ISS astronauts (International Space Station).

The activities of amateur radio allows you to touch many aspects and also subjects such as physics, astronomy and so on.

So almost 4 months from launch and how much of the 2 mil  premine is spend for development of this coin 0? The price is shit , only few people mine this coin , no community and that's all imo thanks to your premine.My advice for you destroy better this premine mayby then this coin have more value and attention.Personally i like the concept of the radio , but this premine keep me away from this coin.

This coin is in the early stages and is here to stay. Ham radio operators around the world "get it", and thousands are following HamRadioCoin on twitter and facebook already. This is NOT a pump and dump! Coins are being distributed to coiners as well as ham enthusiasts little by little. No one is dumping like other coins. Maybe we should give away millions so they get dumped and the coin dies.  ::) Sending receiving and broadcasting the Ham blockchain over radio across the world will take time. Do you think we just call all the amateur radio people like using a cell phone? Distribution will take time. Many radio clubs have started to accept HAM for donations to their clubs. We are happy with the progress to date. If the power ever goes out in an emergency situation ham radio operators around the world will still be able to keep currency flowing to devastated areas over radio. This is part of the long term plan! First of it's kind! But unlike most altcoins, amateur radio has rules and sending crypto on air is tricky and must conform to the FCC rules. Yes over 2000 folowers on twitter mean nothing you can buy them , besides so many followers and most of posts are from you and dev, littel bit weird since there is so big community.
I didn't say that you must give away premine to people of course they will dump it , the best way would be to destroy it.I would like this coin , but not with 10 % premine just my opinion.Anyway i will keep my eye on this topic will see what you will do in future.

More than 2 weeks after Cyclone (hurricane) Hud Hud hit Vishakhapattanam and surrounding communities on India’s Bay of Bengal, radio amateurs are continuing to provide communication support to authorities and residents. In the storm’s immediate aftermath, all communication with Vishakhapattanam  — known as “Vizag” and the wider region was via Amateur Radio. Without electric power knocked out, no mobile or landline telephone service was available, but Amateur Radio Society of India (ARSI) National Coordinator for Disaster Communication Jayu Bhide, VU2JAU, said the Amateur Radio emergency communication network ran smoothly. Bhide told ARRL that it will take some time before things are back to normal in the stricken region.

“The debris is getting cleared [and] rehabilitation is in progress,” he reported over the weekend. A half-dozen radio amateurs from Odissa have been assisting both authorities and the public on communication. Bhide said a few stations working under the National Institute of Amateur Radio (NIAR) banner have set up to assist with police and other administrative communication needs.

“The landline telephones are under repair, and part of [the system] has started working,” Bhide said. “Mobile towers also are under repair and will be in working condition soon.” He said authorities have been working hard to make drinking water available to the public.

Upward of 4 dozen lives were lost after the powerful storm made landfall on October 12, causing severe flooding in three coastal areas and forcing thousands to take shelter one of some 300 relief camps. CoinPayments require almost 5000$/month for not kick out a currency. Is much high for now and we not secure if merchants exchange that volume for now.

Exactly my thoughts on this coin too. Im interested to see how far Aateur satellite operators could take this. It fits perfect being that like Amateur Radio Ops are global just like the crypto scene. 

ISS already has the equipment, so does spaceX and a few others.

It would great exposure if HamRadioCoin had a table at Hamvention. Here in the USA, Hamvention is the biggest yearly convention for our group and is held in the spring in Dayton Ohio. Next year (2015) it's May 15th - 17th  More info can be found at:

Just a quick update and some general info.

An attempt to hijack or otherwise a hostile takeover of HAM was defended by the founders of HAM. The Poison pill has been delivered to
hijackers. We have not yet decided wether to fully out the culprits of the attempt... You know who you are, And so do we!
Thankfully we were able to avert the attempt and preserve HAM. As you may or may not know ham radio operators are a helpful
bunch in general and all have a POD since we have call signs registered with the FCC in the US and other government agency's across the world.
Unfortunately most of the crypto world does not adhere to the same standards as radio operators, Many radio guys are police LEO and firemen and public safety personnel as well regular upstanding people that love the hobby. Radio operators receive no compensation for maintaining equipment
or providing emergency support over radio in minor and major catastrophes or compensation of any kind, many radio clubs are funded by donations from within the clubs themselves. With that said it's a bit of work trying to mesh the two worlds, the crypto thieves that steal at will run rampant in crypto think this is just another coin they can exploit. To those of you that feel this way I deliver a hearty FUCK YOU! we were not born yesterday, you should keep your fingers crossed we don't out you, as we have the connections to do so and make it stick. Leave while you have the chance!

I just wanted to come on here and apologize for any language or hostility toward the HamRadio Coin team and communities. Tensions ran high with all that has happened which didn't not help the situation.  I can say for myself and the Ham Radio Team wants to promote a long term usable coin, while some miss communications have happened we all agree that this coin is being produced with the best of intentions. I do believe the Founders of this Coin have the knowledge to make for a long future of Ham. I was quick to speak on his skill set, but his idea and knowledgebase takes that into account.
