Title: Alternatives to Raspberry Pi? Post by: 713kaos on July 03, 2014, 09:07:48 PM sorry if this is a double post but Im thinking about replacing my current 2 raspberry pies with something a little faster ( more ram or more proc ). I noticed the Banana Pi has double the proc and a gig of ddr3 memory and is capatable with Raspbian. Just curious if you could ultimately use this as a miner and get more miners connected to this with out freezing up? or your thoughts on other host Pi like computers

The Udoo mini computer (was a kickstarter project) works great. I bought both models, they are both fast and stable with a linux distro running cgminer. They will also run android if you want to do something with them after they are done mining. http://www.gizmag.com/udoo/27099/ I also have a Cubox-i running linux for a set of miners. This one cost a little more, but is a nice unit that runs quite and can handle being an xbmc box while running some miner software in the background. Solid-run just announced a cheaper product that will be more like a pi called a hummingboard. I think they might be taking preorders for them, but the cubox-i is out now and works well. Good luck. |
