Id be surprised if akismet let's pass more than 1 for each 1000 spam comments. If that happens than you know you found a spammer who knows what he's doing, which isn't the case 99.9999999999% of times. That's why I love wordpress and all their documentation instead of custom code with no docs. I did them cause I agree with the post(s)) Title: Re: Why id never use wordpress after m first experiecing with it Post by: Xenland on March 08, 2012, 06:09:23 AM Good info to know. Well worth the time and effort. If you built it, I can spam it... There have been many times I've thought to myself "Wordpress sucks because of X" then I find out that someone else already developed a plugin that solves X. So very true ;) The plugin repository is your best friend when building on top of wordpress. It saves a lot of trips to the Codex pages :D Title: Re: Why id never use wordpress after m first experiecing with it Post by: Aggro on March 08, 2012, 07:22:54 PM Activate akismet and forget about the spam... ::) Id be surprised if akismet let's pass more than 1 for each 1000 spam comments. Check also the add-ons, you have anti spam tools in there too (like captchas, etc). Truth is, regardless of the software you run, you will have to put up with spammers. My 2btc |
