LOL that's so funny because now the red X over my lock icon in the url bar is updated =).

I will make an educated guess: It wasn't an expired certificate, it was a hotlinked image from other site that was being served over plain HTTP. Chrome will show you the red x for that, and I bet you're using chrome...

Yeah, this is the most likely explanation.
