welcome. We discuss all things bitcoin here.

Bitcoin is a new form of money.

There is no fast and easy way to earn.  however , you can exchange your current government money for bitcoins....that is probably the fastest way for you to get some.

Best/easiest way for a newb to create a wallet & address is using blockchain.info:

https://blockchain.info/wallet (https://blockchain.info/wallet)

"Best practice" is to create a password that's hard to guess, as well as enable two-factor (2FA) protection, a type of 2nd password that's issued through Google's Auth app on a smartphone for extra security.  You'll be given a public address (starts with "1..."), which you'll assign any payments to.  Hope this helps!

if your friend said he knows a way to get free money.. ask him for it, after all it cost him nothin

but seriously, bitcoins are not FREE, it is purely a better payment system then credit cards, bank wire transfers, paypal, banknotes combined.

to learn about it: https://bitcoin.org/en/
and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=7269.0

but if you want to skip th long intro and technobable and you want something to play with. first of all go to https://blockchain.info/wallet and 'start a wallet'. this is where you can store some little amounts just to play with. its recommended that if you start to get alot. to look into getting a proper bitcoin wallet.

you will b given a long gobbledegook address which is what you can hand out to people to pay you. think of it as your email address you use for paypal.. (it always starts with a 1 or 3 (dont confuse it with the login id- keep that bit secret)

next step:
so now you have an address, google "bitcoin faucets" they will give you small amounts (less then 1c) just to give you something to use and learn how to send and receive it.

now that you have stuck your toe in the water the next step is to learn the exciting things about bitcoin by going to googling whatever comes to mind
bitcoin jobs, bitcoin trading,

just be careful as some websites are scams. its normally best to google a site followed by the word scam to see if you get any responses of people warning about it.

feel free to ask more questions as you progress

Don't do this. Faucets are a complete waste of time. If you have any goods to sell or services you can provide you can list them over on the Marketplace subforum here. There's also an eBay-like site called cryptothrift you could try out.

Basically, browse the Services subforum of the Marketplace on this site to see what's normal. You'll see a lot of people looking for developers, writing services, members willing to rent their profile signatures, and even the occasional bounty for a one-off task. Just recently, I saw a post from somebody willing to put their 3D printer to work for Bitcoin. So be sure to make a post or two listing things you can do for Bitcoin. Oh, and be sure to download the Bitcoin wallet. You can do that and also learn all the basics about Bitcoin here: https://bitcoin.org/en/

The best way to earn bitcoin here is to sell your goods and your services. You may as well join a sig campaign and earn by posting.
You can sell your goods in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=51.0, and sell your services in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0
You can check the details of existing sig campaigns in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=615953.0

Mining and trading are the two best if you have the cash to start up.

Aside from being a complete waste of time on the face of it, it is relatively costly when spending collected dust. Other than for exploring the usage of crypto, I would avoid faucets at all times.

hate to break it to you, but the whole making bitcoin thing is over.

Most wont ever admit to it, but its the cold truth. Its better to earn your money at a job and change it to bitcoin when its low.

That's true. Every inputs will take about 148 bytes and so if you want to spend 100 inputs, you will need to pay 0.0015 fee (0.0001 per KB).
