Title: Most newly created forum account users "Smh"
Post by: SeniorMember on July 09, 2014, 09:54:02 AM
Already Acting as if they are experienced veterans on this BCT forum and they're know how knowledge.
It is completely obvious to others and also myself that the user on that new account is probably up to no good. Signs to look for: 1. Spamming posts in random sections/threads 2. Usually they act as if interested in buying/selling btc/goods but trades are not ever completed 3. Disappeared from conversation once escrow is mentioned, or trade falls through from escrow because a situation and created a problem 4. New user always claims to use escrow for a trade and plays dumb about it once its time to actually discuss terms with escrow e.g. "has never used escrow before but claims escrow is a must??? Wtf?"
There's plently more tale tell signs to use for weeding out the scum bags!

Which accounts are you talking about?
I have tried to search with "Smh" in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=mlist;sa=search and found nothing.

"Smh" means shake my head
Not a username
Was pointing it out in general

Take this user as an example
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=353628
Was just created today and posting everywhere to buy/sell

Misunderstood your point completely. :P

Not sure if he is a scammer or not, but I would never trade without escrow, unless the other person is highly trusted.

I see your point in there. Most users nowadays create accounts and spam different threads just to increase activity up until they become a member and join a signature deal and start the spamfest. :D

Yeah there are lots of scum out there, I check out the scam accusation thread fairly often to get a heads up on the latest scams.

Trading with newbies - no escrow is asking for trouble.

Maybe that guy is an old member pretending to be new (or building a multi). If you see this user doing something against the rules you better report him. Anyway I would be surprised if there are still people who could get scammed by a newbie.
