Once and for all. I realize that gambling mess up my life and my social life as well. I need to get out the game while I still can. Advice?

Step 1: Loan $50k from loanshark.
Step 2: Go to casino and bet it all on 00.
Step 3: ???
Step 4: Never gamble again.

If I would be able to take a loan I would go for a 1000 btc loan. Gamble safely my way up on dice sites to 1200-1500 and return the initial 1000.

you have to start smoke weed I think weed is a great substitute to quit gambling. so smoke some weed and relax your mind .when you forget your gambling then when you will start your work again you are totally relaxed from weed :P

Grow up, you are not a kid anymore, if you know it is messing your life, then STOP IT.

First thing you need to do is, don't open anything related to gambling, not even to have a look. It's very hard, but do it if you want to quit.

It also helps to talk with other people that had a gambling addiction in the past, they can tell you exactly what to do, even though every person is different.

Keep yourself busy with stuff, do you have a hobby? Or go to the gym, just anything to clear your mind.

There''s a number of hotlines you can call (at least in the U.S there are).  I would say tell people close to you so they can hold you accountable.  Also, many sites have a self ban that you can ban yourself from betting online.  Make it so your money (at least large amounts) isn't easily accessible.  That's all I can think of off the top of my head

it is natural hub which grows in our environment :) it is not man made thing which is made by mixing of chemicals .
it is Gods gift to human beings to relax your mind after huge tensions and work . you don't need make this habit but use as natural medicine for relaxing your body :)

Face the loss, and re-coup that money in other ways then gambling cause repeating history doesnt do you any good.

Learn about odds and math in depth.  Learn about EV (expected value) - every -ev bet you make is a loser its just results orientated thinking confusing you.  Also learn about sharp and square betting if you into sports.

After all that if you are still betting large without an edge then you basically hate yourself and are on self destruct so you need therapy. Or you think about life in a temporary way and need to learn postponed gratification.

Ask your friendly IT professional about how to block gambling sites. It's a lot harder to lose money betting online if you simply can't get to the websites.

it's fine to make mistakes.. what's fatalistic is to not learn from them and make better decisions. repeating the same mistakes over and over, without seeing the pattern or cause, is just plain dumb.

1 - Block the gambling sites in your host file and put the gambling board on your ignore list in your account
2 - If you have some money left in any site, put a bet for Netherlands being at 3th place and recover some loss. Then never go back to these sites again.
3 - You may ask the gambling sites to delete your account too

Drugs make you freak for music and parties . drugs is the part time thing which is a work in parties when loud music is running . weed is opposite to the drug after do weed you just need peace around yours . your mind is going to relax . :)

My ex was deep into gambling and we literally lost our house because of it (utilities shut off etc) and it was horrifying to watch because I know he's a smart guy.

What happened is we took the gambling completely out of the picture, for a while he did online gambling (not BTC) but just about every online casino banned him.

And we live in a place where the nearest casino is about an hour and a half drive and that's not a drive you'd like to make every day.

Take yourself out of the environment, and look back and kind of reflect on it. You'll see what you've done wrong, also there are plenty of hotlines and help groups for it (hell the one casino in PA advertises it every 5 seconds)

I think he was in huge debt he started thinking it impossible to recover with his 8 hour work so he took this decision but it was not a right decision . he needed to do work for 15-18 hours with his wife . then he easily recovered all bad days of life but he was ass hole man!

I developed a gambling addiction. I won 2000 BTC back when they were $8-10 or so around October 2012... Lost 1500 BTC a few days later at the same place I won them.

I disagree they cost a fortune and is don't really help I believe losing something like this is the only way you will learn to stop gambling.

Problems caused by excessive gambling are not just financial. Too much time spent on gambling can lead to relationship breakdown and loss of important friendships. You need to quit asap. Professional therapy is the only option  if you want to do it for real.

Totally agree with this. And one more important thing is limitation. e.g. You stop when you win 5K & You stop when you lost 2K. That's it.

Betting is like illness people go to rehab cuz of it.

About gambling and imperfect information games ...

The reason I only play poker on tournaments, never cash games ..is that in tournament you know the maximum amount you going to loose is the buy-in fees ... inside the tournament is different ... you have those feeling that can be rich, or deal if yours wishful thinking, emotions and reasons.
