Title: Help finding what to buy. Post by: chynnc on July 10, 2014, 03:26:59 PM I just spent my first bit of money on a small antminer u2 and I wasn't sure if I needed to buy something extra or if I just plugged it into my laptop and TAA-DAA.
Aside from a few small downloads and writing a cmd file so my miner was recognized, it was basically plug n play. So now that I've got it down I would like to spend a bit more on something more powerful, but I am aprehensive something bigger than my usb miner requires things like power supplies & fans or things I can't pronounce.. So as of right now I have about 130$ to spend but I have to use that for everything I'm gonna need for this. I don't have a ton of time to browse through ebay, although what I have seen is promising. I have found an antminer s1 for 135. So if someone could make me a little shopping list and keep it around my price range, I would be eternally grateful. I may also need tips getting everything set up, because I'm still new and have the knowledge of a five year old. Thanks in advance. Title: Re: Help finding what to buy. Post by: roslinpl on July 10, 2014, 04:00:01 PM Well if you want something more powerful than your Ant, $130 would be not really enough ...
you will not be able to build up any rig for $130.. Do you mine Bitcoins for fun or you want some profit? if you want profits - $3000 and you can think about a little profit :) after few month. At first it was for fun, but at this point I would really like some profit. I can't imagine having 3k to spend anytime soon O.O Title: Re: Help finding what to buy. Well, that S1 you saw on eBay will require a separate power supply to run (unless it was included in the auction).Aside from a few small downloads and writing a cmd file so my miner was recognized, it was basically plug n play. Some vendors provide the USB cable and the power supply (GAW Miners do). That will get you 32-37 GH/s. Title: Re: Help finding what to buy. No. $0.59 per day is all. https://alloscomp.com/bitcoin/calculator Title: Re: Help finding what to buy.
