Title: [WTB] XFX R9 290 (reference)
Post by: MrTeal on July 10, 2014, 04:27:55 PM
I have one of these in my main computer, and wouldn't mind going crossfire if someone is liquidating their farm.

Not in any particular hurry so I'm willing to hold out for an XFX one to match, for around $200 since I see people selling them here for $220 or so.

Would a XFX 290X Reference be close enough?

Yeah, as long as it doesn't artifact and still works for gaming. I can't use the extra shaders vs the 290 though, so I wouldn't want to pay a premium for a 290X.

Alright, I guess I no longer care about getting an XFX one, just any reference 290 is fine. Even though mine was a very early one, it seems I got unlucky and it's still not able to be flashed.
