Mainstream media barely ever predict anything correctly. They are writing only what they thing readers will read...they dont give a fuck if it's true or not or is it real or not....they will write about santa clause or yeti if readers will read...so yeah...mainstream media...

Well, I doubt we'll see another financial crisis like the most recent one any time soon. But if we do it's going to be a huge benefit to bitcoin. That's for sure.

If Internet would somehow disintegrate, that would instantly kill Bitcoin.

And the odd is higher than most people assume.

Maybe.

But why do you say that specifically?

Well to a new financial crisis! This will only accelerate the adoption of Bitcoins

Internet is a high level service which have high dependency on many services/components of a society.

A slight chaos on basic component will disrupt all the high level services.

It is decentralised though. So it's not quite that easy to bring it all down. Parts of it maybe, but all at once?

PREDICTING the next global financial crisis has become something of a sport these days.

Yes, that's the problem. There are so many predictions out there, that you'll never know which will be right. :)

Most of the arguments are reasonable for sure, but I think it's almost impossible to predict the time of collapse. The system is in agony since years, but it is not dead yet.

Decentralized, yes. But a few major routing nodes shutting down will mean high network congestion for acceptable usage.

That happened a couple of months ago when an ATT node went down. I use comcast in my business but we were still affected by the outage.

They don't really know.I saw other opinions that the next big crash will happen within next 5 years. The problem is that just like with weather predictions, no economist can seriously predict anything with more then 50% chance of that actually happening.

Internet is a lot more fragile than most people would assume.

There are people in Bitcoin with enough power to start their own internet by putting satelites in the space. I think if they care about Bitcoin they should start putting up this internet already, ideally for free. Free worldwide internet, now tell me how the fuck would Bitcoin fail there. In a way they are making a huge investment by doing this. Just an idea for the Bitcoin billonaires out there.
