Title: BitCoin Package Repositories
Post by: Cdecker on August 03, 2010, 11:00:30 AM
Since the most common question is about where to get a stable version for the respective operating systems and distributions, I thought it might be a good idea to start collecting a number of repositories into a reference thread.

My nightly builds from SVN (not stable, but always up to date) are on the openSuse Build Service (https://build.opensuse.org/package/show?package=bitcoind&project=home:cdecker). Just add the respective line (the one that matches your OS) to your /etc/apt/sources.list file:
Quote
deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/cdecker/xUbuntu_9.04/ ./
deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/cdecker/xUbuntu_9.10/ ./
deb http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/cdecker/xUbuntu_10.04/ ./
After an "apt-get update" you should be able to install bitcoind (the headless daemon).

Please list your builds and their specialities (patch level, revision, ...)

This should be moved to the development & technical discussion forum.

I would like to see CentOS and ArchLinux binary packages. CentOS is a real PITA, so an RPM will be very helpful.
On Arch Linux the official binaries seem to work, but having a pacman package is always better.
