Intro / The Objective

Sometimes we take things too seriously here and we can get a bit ruthless. Let’s give Thanks. Every time you wish to thank someone simply send them some Thanks (our crypto).

Here are a couple situations where you could send some Thanks:
-   Tipping workers at Restaurants, Cafes etc.
-   Giving them when someone does you a favour
-   When you want to Thank someone
-   Give a donation to a charity as a thanks for their work

This idea may seem niche and it is but we say “Thanks” a lot why not give them a small financial reward as well? People receiving Thanks can then spend them at participating shops, save them or give them to others as a thank you.

We highly recommend you use Thanks to tip at restaurants etc instead of using fiat. Since tipping is voluntary it is very unlikely a waiter or waitress would be unsatisfied with receiving some Thanks. Plus you save a couple $ or BTC.

-   X11 Algorithm – Super Secure Hashing with the following 11 hashing functions: blake, bmw, groestl, jh, keccak, skein, luffa, cubehash, shavite, simd and echo.  X11 is probably the best hashing algo. We did not see the point in following the pointless trend of adding more algo’s. X11 is more than secure and has many more applications than newer X13 and X15 algos therefore we felt it was the best choice.

-   Only CPU and GPU mining due to X11 algo makes it possible for everyone to mine and give some Thanks.

-   5% fee on blocks created – This will be our revenue for our organizations and help further advertise, increase adoption, further develop and offer bounties for this crypto, Thanks. To be clear this is not a premine. Every time a block is generated a small 5% is sent to the specified addresses. This is our organizations revenue and we will not disclose earning etc but we will try and maintain a very small % of the supply and give you guys a list of the addresses so you see how much Thanks we hold at any given time. A considerable amount of the funds will be re-invested into advertising and further developing Thanks.

We hope you understand this is a much better than A pre-mine, un-predicted instamines which are considerably more dangerous for a community. Plus, we are not expecting anything upfront and aren’t doing an IPO. Often, coins without these tend to result in OPs who disappear soon as there is no incentive for them to continue supporting the coin. So the best way is this small tax/ miner fees.

Unified login please. i'ts a pain and a WASTE OF TIME to set up a new account and add workers every time you guys launch a coin. Pool.mn is one of the last pools that does not feature this.

I've fixed this. There is a typo in the source code. I've wrote to dev about this, hopefully he will fix it.

Actually, the source code is allowing to have 0.5% charity and not 5% due to another typo.

This is incorrect ...

It reason the code states "0.5%" is because their are ten charity scripts. So actually you have 0.5% * 10(due to the addresses) which consequently = 5%


We are looking at the issue regarding block value for rpcmining.


If you wish to solomine you can use the internal miner.... just goto to the qt console and type "setgenerate true 16" should start hashing away.

This statement only checks for the first charity of 8 coins, i.e. the wallet would accept blocks with 8 coins as charity. Do you want me to try this?

pool.mn is currently sending 80 coins per block to the first address, but as I said, the wallet would accept 8 coins as well. Sending 8 coins to 10 different addresses would require some more stratum modifications but there is no point to do this if the wallet is not checking for it.

Agreed with pool.mn - the code does seem to indicate that while the solo mining will create 10 charity script payouts, the block is valid so long as the first tx vout[0] contains the CHARITY_SCRIPT address (not 2-10) and 0.5% of Block Value

I have set up my pool with stratum nomp and set up the 10 address donation with 0.5% for each but my wallet keep rejecting the blocks and i dont know why

What bounties are avalible?

The Two Typos identified shortly after launch have been fixed.

However, we predict this will cause an issue whereby the blocks mined and not sent to the ten addresses will be rejected.

The OPs of Pool.nm had kindly offered a temp solution to our typo issue whereby they sent the fee to the first address and not to all ten evenly. These blocks will unfortunately be rejected and block-chain somewhat re-set.

We take full responsibility for the mistake and apologize that you guys mining until now will loose your coins. However, from this point on-wards the network will be much more secure and block fee (5% we take) will be spread across 10 addresses compared to just 1 address as was done in the temp fix.

Pool.nm have kindly agreed to use the new source code so you can keep mining your new blocks with them ... We would also like to thank their continued support with the Thanks project.

POOL.MN is shutting down the pool due to this change. All the previous blocks that we've found are now invalid due to this change.

Yes ... We have done this strategically so that you can forever keep producing coins. The idea is not for you to max profits and convert into BTC but rather keep tipping and giving in thanks , forever.

Plus, we had a concern that people would "hoard" their coins in anticipation of the value going up when cap was reached. Hoarding would mean less coins given as donations, tips and thanks.
