Title: multibit, electrum, or other?

I definitely dont want to get the original bitcoin software as wallet because i heard it is impossible to download.  i also heard theres been problems with the convinient multibit wallet.  what abour electrum?

Well, the Bitcoin Core client isn't impossible to download, but I have to agree that it takes a lot for it to sync.
That's why a lot of people prefer thin clients, such as electrum or multibit.

I personally use Electrum, it's safe and easy to use. But Multibit is just as fine.
Check their forum threads, websites, their features and screenshots and see which one you relate better.
Just pick one :).

electrum seems cool.  what about blockchain.info and mycellium wallets?

IMO multibit is the most secure of the two as your keys are held, encrypted on the electrum servers.

The multibit thing was overblown. One guy was affected by a bug related to importing blockchain.info wallets. That particular bit of code was done by a non-regular contributor to multibit who failed to keep it up to date. They've since removed that code entirely. I don't think you should discount multibit.

ah i see. so he was trying to import blockchain wallet to multibit... interesting.  didnt know you could do that.  other than that im guessing multi bit is very nice
