the last time I saw that sort of announcement, the dev who did it ended up releasing a scrypt-n coin (pugcoin I guess  ;D)
or we might have to run seti@home

Just came across this. Anyone think there is a real chance that this coin will launch? Haven't seen the dev comment in about a week even though was on a day or 2 ago. Loved the seti@home project. Ran it 24/7 until I started mining random coins with cpu.

I'm sad that this didn't work out.  I hope to see more coins using the hashpower for useful things like SETI in the future.  Rather than just keeping a network secure.

Because with your help we've built one of the largest citizen science projects on the planet; it continues to push boundaries in innovation, and to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers.
