If these are from buying AMD graphics cards, then you might be required to present a picture or scanned image of the actual code on the packaging to verify. A while ago, quite a few fakes of these codes were made so AMD has been cracking down.

Actually steam leaked their entire code database, so they have to verify you actually have the cd key coupon.
