I can serve as escrow on this one, if needed.

You are a little bit too new to act as an escrow...

I disagree. How much experience do you think is required to hold money? I have a secure account to receive and send bitcoin, i'm an objective party to the transaction, I accept tips for service, and I need to earn some trust among you mooks!

Blazed, It's funny when the person that says "You're not qualified" just so happens to be someone who likely would want to take my spot! Your approach is more shaded with alternative motivation than mine is for sure. When you're either the buyer or the seller your opinion on this will be truly relevant, in absence of either of those roles you're just wasting everyone's time.

To the OP, I'd be happy to offer escrow services...

No offense Possum577 but for Escrow I would opt for Yankee (BitInstant) every time.

He has a long history on the site and has already completed several Escrow transactions without issue.

Kinda of catch 22 for you, no one will use you due to lack of Escrow History, but you wont get the Escrow history unless someone uses you.

Ha, this isn't about me vs. Yankee. This is about two people trying to make a deal and a third, objective unbiased person offering to facilitate the terms of that deal...however they decide on those terms.

How do you think Yankee started offering escrow services? At some point he offered to serve as escrow and someone accepted and then he had done it once. I'm trying only to do the same thing.

It's a good thing the early success of Bitcoin and alt-currency wasn't dependent on the opinion of you, Yankee, or Blazed, otherwise you may have made a quick dismissal of the idea based on the assumption that Bitcoin didn't "have a long history" as a currency.

So why do you think people should trust you enough to send Bitcoin to you?

A member for 2 weeks, zero trade history or trust feedback.

Trust always starts at zero history.

As a new member of the community I'm offering my service and support. I'd be happy offer other personal information to provide a sufficient level of trust, security or recourse to the seller and prospective buyer(s).

And after all this dialogue, if I screwed something up I'd ruin my opportunity to engage with you all going forward.

Are you asking as a prospective buyer?

Let's stop hijacking this thread with unwarranted attacks toward my offer of community service.

I am also interested in a single 2012 & 2013 Casascius coin for my collection.   :)

On the topic of escrow, I read this gem on the forum somewhere but can't find it at the moment.

"You become an escrow agent as a result of gaining trust.  You do not gain trust as a result of becoming an escrow agent."

Yea - not a lot of sale data out there so the market price is an enigma...  Either the pieces are rare, sellers, rare, or there is little demand...
