Your best bet is to go ahead and state your question... anyway, to answer the topic's question, I've been using bitcoin since late 2012. Unfortunately, back then, I was just playing poker on SWC and was not really holding onto much BTC for the early 2013 bubble. :)

well, i register on this forum on June 21, 2013, and i remember it being the same week that i bought my first coins. so around that date. wish i had bought more back then! :)

How much is it for a coin, and what do they do?

Also, if I don't want comments on a thread I post, is there a way to lock it or something along those lines? I tried looking at the rules post, but didn't see anything.

BTCitcoins are priced at $625 at preev.com today, you can lock a thread opened up by you by clicking the lock this topic option, I don't know if it is available for new members or not.

My first buy was 24 december, back in 2013.

My advice is read the intro material, the stick posts and the bitcoin faq.

It's been a very long time since I started my own topic, but I do recall there being a "lock" button (near reply, etc.) when you start a thread. So yes, you can do that. (pretty sure)

I've been using Bitcoin since April 2013. Mined a bit with GPU, did adclicking and tasksites, then took a break and got back in April this year. Started taking "advantage" of the signature campaigns here and try to help out newbies where I am able to. I used Bitcoin exclusively to buy games (bought steam wallet cards with Bitcoin and then bought games on Steam).

My advice for you is: Inform yourself. Most importantly inform yourself about wallets and security. Never be shy to ask question in this forum, there's a lot of helpful persons around here.

I use it since the Christmas days (27-28th december) but I knew bitcoin since 2010  >:( (I'm so stupid because I bought my first bitcoin in 2013).

I got my first BTC in the mid of 2012, but it was after the closure of Liberty Reserve I started to use it on a regular basis.

I've never had a full BTC. My first satoshi came from mining DOGE in the early days.

I learnt about bitcoin since the beginning of 2014, more than half a year ago. I bought half a btc from a bitcoin ATM and now earning from signature deals.

I think i knew about Bitcoin from a years ago. Probably got into Bitcoin because faucets, it used to be a great way to promote Bitcoin IMO.

If you wanna learn a lot about bitcoin, read the wiki https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Main_Page , and if you wanna ask and share anything about it, you're already in the right place :)

OT: Just over 12 months, I've also learned everything I know about BTC from, Bitcoinwiki, VERY helpful to beginners.

I first heard of bitcoin in late 2013, and then joined bitcointalk soon after that and started using bitcoin for various things. :)

The price on bitstamp is $624 at this moment.
You can use it to buy goods and services (more and more businesses are accepting bitcoin), to donate, or sell it back for fiat money.

I have used for about 8 months, although I never buy anything with it.

I have been using bitcoin for about a year but I have only been on the forum since mid January :(

I started using bitcoin in december 2013. But at first I bought LTC, because of a bubble. Worst decision ever (as LTC was going down all the time till then).

Heard about Bitcoin in 2011. I pretty much ignored it until late last year during the November bubble. Fortunately I waited until earlier this year before buying BTC at half the price of the ATH and a bit more during the Mt. Gox crisis. Price has been going sideways since then.

I'm aware of it now for 2 years, but i started ''using'' it in January 2014, when i first bought them. 2 days ago i bought coupon for bowling with BTC. We have a coupon site where you can buy anything there with BTC: traveling, food, products, services, whatever- really usefull.

What kind of advice do you want? Advice for wallet client? Investment advice? ???

Ever since early 2013. Was too dumb not too hold long enough tho. But I've learned my lesson now and will only hold as much as possible for as long as possible. :)

Mid 2012, i saw it in a news article on arstechnica or something and mined it for a while. spent a few weeks mining it and got to 0.50...
Then i used it to buy humble bundles rather than holding onto it... i was a dumb ass.

I mined a little in end of 2010 but I didn't use my coins until 2011.  I average about 3 BTC purchases a week currently.

Only since 2013. I wish I got in earlier though...  :-\

Late 2012 when I can get a bitcoin for just $11.
I wish I have bought bitcoin with all of my money and I can be retired now lol.

2014, too late unfortunately, hope it will recover, and if bitcoin will touch 10k or 100k one day, it would be as if I had not lost the train

Have been studying it since the beginning of 2014, but only started 'looking for coins' yesterday 

And while such little time I can tell that learning from practice is awesome.

I've been experimenting with bitcoin since early 2013.

My advice: "trust no one with custody of your coins"

and in my country 1 btc mean big money , even 0.01 can make smile.

I would say, for me I been using it since 2012 when thats the 1st time I discovered it.

The first time I heard about was some my friend mentioning something buying weed off silkroad but needed bitcoin.

2nd encounter was a few weeks later, I read a cnn article about virtual currency lol.

Its crazy its only been 2 years lol.

Phew, I don't know... ummm I guess some time in 2013. Registered on this forum some time after. I think you need a month or so experience to know all the basics if you're really wanting to get involved in Bitcoin. But in order to survive the price swings and develop a thick skin you need at least 1 or 2 bubbles and definitely some crashes first!

I knew bitcoins in late 2012 but I wasn't enough smart to invest some cash in it.
Later, in 2013, I bought some coins and used them for some small transactions buying electronic goods from the market.

Heard of BTC in Q4 2010. Started mining in Q1 2011.

Have mined some coins but spent along the way - groceries, fuel, bills, etc...

Been supplementing my income through BTC for ~3years. It pays for hobbies and a few other bits and pieces.

best part of it, i decide not buy bitcoin before learning the system
so i wait another month and buy some bitcoins

I bought a few thousand BTC in late 2011, but sold them in mid 2012. Forgot about bitcoin until a few weeks ago. Bought some more, although not quote as many this time.

I joined the train after the first chinese ban, december 2013. Found that join after a fall would be a good idea, because, bitcoin would recover sooner or later.

Was right and wrong, short term recover, then fall to half the ATH value

Known it since like 2011, I wish I actually got into it. I actually got into it mid 2012.

End of 2012, but had the capacity of made little to no profit with all the bubbles along the way.

6 months ago but I was more focused on altcoins than bitcoin itself.

I know and used bitcoin since 2012 when coinbase launched. And i got my first bitcoin from coinbase.

I did few faucrets 2 years ago, when saw is really little i stopped after 2 days. about half year ago i remember and since BTC raised, was actually worth something what i got back then so i did few more, but saw they pay also lowered, so i got here. And start reading and bought soem to be able to buy Moneros.  ;D

about week ago, and spend it for the games...well i hope im not gonna loosing my money for this  :P

Just before faucets stopped giving away whole Bitcoins to people.  Sadly I never tried to get coins from more then 1 faucet at the time and it was down temporarily when I tried and I just never went back..
I hate thinking about those times honestly. :(

I've been using BTC since Summer 2011.

The market has evolved rapidly since then, but its still in its infancy.  Still, its amazing to see how much has happened since then and how far we've come :)

Your best bet if you are unsure of where to start when it comes to bitcoins is to ask as many questions as you feel you need to and do a lot of research before jumping in. I am sure there will be many people on the forum who will be more than happy to help you.

Since 2012, I've seen it change drastically. I could say that I'm proud of it :)

I first learned about BTC in 2011, but didn't really pay much attention to it as I thought it was a trend that was going to die. I still kick myself to this day about that. But I actually started dabbling with bitcoin in early 2013, and i've loved it ever since :P

I learned about it a long time ago. BUt just recently started. Totally behind which I kick myself in the A$$ every single day.

I'm in since last year, so I've seen my fair share of bubbles already, but I'm not a lucky early adopter that has a huge stash of BTC, ready to retire :) But maybe I will be able to when the price goes up a bit more :)

About half a year until now. I wish I had found bitcoin before the bull runs started :P
