Obviously there are some libertarians that like the thought of taking the power of money away from the Fed and Gov't, and then there is a smaller number of people that are interested in it's potential for micro-transactions. At the end of the day, I would say the largest percentage of people are here because they are hoping to hit it big like some of the early adopters that got in in the single digits. I'd have agree with this, I'd like to see the mentality change but it will likely take time! The main reason people want to use bitcoin is because it is more cost effective then alternative payment methods. People are very short sighted in general and often fail to see what really generates happiness, hence the state of the world. |
