Given that they didn't even understand how test-net works they just choose to mine on the real network last year and compete against their own customers while making $. Although I can't prove it, I am sure that BFL is mining through multiple proxies and ISPs with multiple wallets spread across many mining pools so as to disguise the power of the equipment they are using.
