I keep hearing this chatter about Multisig being the "new thing" in Bitcoin security.

I have a paper wallet.  Bip 38 encrypted.   Is Multisig something that can be incorporated into paper wallet creation?

Or is it a completely separate concept altogether. 

Just want to be sure my Paper Wallet is using the most current security.

Sure, you could if you wanted.  For example, maybe you wanted a 3 of 5 multisig.  So you could create 5 separate paper wallets, and combine the 5 public keys to generate yourself one multisig address.  You then send your funds over to that new multisig address.  Now in order to send any funds, you need to have 3 of the 5 paper wallets, as just one won't work anymore.

Then hide your 5 paper wallets in different locations.  If someone manages to get ahold of one or even two of your paper wallets, no big deal, because you need three of them to send any funds.

Has multi-sig feature - sounds like what you are after

interesting find.  so it does need multiple pw`s before the keys are revealed. But what if that person forgets lol.

regardless though, I like the concept.

I'm pretty sure multisig will be the future.

If someone wants the bitcoins in your multisig address they require multiple private keys instead of just 1 private key, it's just another layer of security.

I don't think enough people are this serious about security for multi sig to be the future.

There are also a number of other ways for corporations to secure their wallets so that multi sig would not be necessary
