The app used to be fairly simple. Now it is more complicated and hard to use.

Already posted there. I've not tried the new app but there was nothing wrong with the old one so if it isn't broke don't fix it, though I'm always open to new features. I sent bit coin for the first time with my iPhone last week through the coin base app. It was actually easier than sending it from my Mac.
