I want to offer No Collateral micro loans to everybody, Newbies will need Collateral (using a third party escrow).

But there isn't any collateral involved!

Be very carefull when you lend your bitcoins it would be better to keep them the rate will grow up again :)

It still reads you WILL loan to newbies WITH collateral and this should require a third party escrow since you have no Trust.

Giving out loans without collateral, as small as they might be is a bad idea OP. It's your money, it's your decision and I do hope you get it back but if you just want to help ppl, do a charity to the needy ones.

Saying that makes me annoyed, do you think any scammer would care?  You seem to be wanting keep your bitcoins, and you have very little, so I would suggest that you close your lending thread until you have more bitcoin to play around with.
Also, with 5% daily, you are ripping the borrowers off. :P

This is definitely not a good way to raise money for school. Tuition is absurd nowadays, and still increasing. The amount you get back won't make a dent in the overall cost. In fact, The amount from interest won't even buy you a single text book.

Don't risk what you can't afford to lose, and it seems like you can't even afford to lose this small amount.

OP will be revealed to be a scammer soon enough. I wonder how he's going to try to pull it off though.

Suckering in a few naive guys who are only happy to help out a damsel in distress after gaining trust by lending out a bit of dust. Any user who has a blatantly obvious female name and goes out of their way to assert their gender at every opportunity is 99.9% of the time a guy just looking to exploit a guy the easy way.

What should we do?  Ignore these type of people?  Soon we would have a few of these posts every day.  Everyone would claim to be a woman and would be asking for bitcoins to provide proof.

You weren't here when I first arrived - you don't realize what a cesspool this place was because no one was calling these scammers out.  The cost of keeping this area scam free is eternal vigilance.

I didn't give you negative feedback for a stupid ass reason.  You said you are going to sell your account.  That means you probably won't honour any deals you make on this account.  I'm just telling people to be aware of this fact.

Actually it is a stupid ass reason because I've done nothing in the past that would warrant me being labeled a "scammer". I've always paid every single loan back, (with extra interest if late). The only reason I want to sell my account is because I had a really bad losing streak, and so that I can PAY BACK MY LOANS I'VE TAKEN OUT. How does one not understand that?

No you don't directly say it but your little "comment" on my trust rating was clicked negative. So now I have -6 trust, labeled a scammer by the trust system, and probably won't be able to sell my account to pay back my loans.

Selling one's account is a sleazy move that helps scammers.
Since you communicated your intentions to sell your account,
no one should trust your account and therefore the negative trust
is appropriate.

Last time I checked people also bought accounts as an investment because they plan on joining signature campaigns.
Also because some people don't like the post restrictions on newbies, and it does take a few weeks to become atleast a Jr. Member.


Last time I checked:

selling account =/= scammer goin' take it over.

if (s)he provides a pic i bet a number of people will give her money. if (s)he holds up a bit of paper that will just increase the loan 100 times over.

Selling an account is allowed because it can't be stopped. Any accounts sold should have a warning that the account was purchased and to protect someone from potential scams. It really is that simple.

I like your suggestion. Vod should take a page out of your book, and come up with new ideas like that, rather than naming himself "the mighty forum patrol man who must stop all potentially scammy situations"

Bullshit, its everyones job to keep scammers off this forum. I should not say this cause people pay me to find scammers. I have seen people lose bitcoins in the amounts that would make you shit yourself to scams.
While vod may be quick to throw negative trust up, it makes scammers have to try a little harder which is great.

I agree that it's not banned simply because it can't be stopped.

I don't think selling accounts just so someone can get a signature
campaign is a valid reason to do it because when an account changes
owners, it corrupts the meaning of the account status in the first place.
(i.e. a hero account isn't really a hero account when someone makes
a ton of posts and then sells that account to a random person).

And additionally there's a high potential for scamming.

 

And how will you know what the person buying the account is going to use it for? Sure they can use it for sig campaigns, but they can also use it to fuk someone else over. Are you going to be personally liable for all actions done from the account you sold?

Lastly, do you think any amount of bitching will get vod to remove all that red? Get over it, you've had that account for a few months, go build another one up.

I think it is warranted feedback when a person has openly said they are going to sell their account.
Too many scam possibilities to arise from that account.
Sure, the buyer could use it for sig. campaigns, but more likely a scammer would use the previous positive feedback to make a quick buck.
You'll be okay. You have borrowed and repaid a few times, so people could still trust you and your account.
It just prevents future scam possibilities.

It's not that people are desperate to see a picture of a girl simply because there are millions/billions on the internet.

There are a lot of scams happening on this forum, especially in the lending section.

And usually when someone blatantly claims she's female it's more often than not a scam. I don't know why people want a picture of you because you are the one wanting to give out loans, maybe they thought you were trying to scam collateral?

Ok I skimmed the thread a little bit and it seems that people first thought you were asking for a loan.

Then they didn't believed you are a girl and you offered to post a picture if you would see 0.001 BTC in your address, which seems a little scammy.

Maybe before you post a picture contact Vod and let him tell you something to write on a paper so he/other people believe it's really you, also remove your trust rating of him and I'm sure he can remove his rating of you as well.

I guess you can't remove feedback after a certain amount of days? I can't see the option.

You have the option to remove feedback at the trust page of the person you left feedback (in this case Vod) instead of your own.
