Title: Cooling question
Post by: kittencake on July 21, 2014, 11:24:42 AM
I'm gonna ask something that seems silly I started my pc to mine and it was getting 770 megahashes , but the thing that worried me was the temps to my video card and running the fan that hard for a long time , is there any way I can dial it down a bit or throttle it back ?

I beleive there is a way to modify it by adjusting the incoming power to the fan by using a resistor to lessen the power so the fan can go slower but you need to know electronics and how that works and know how to measure voltage etc

well I don't want the fan to go slower just lower the amount of heat / work the gpu is doing so its not going as hard

I assume you know that GPU mining is dead. If you don't, please read more. If you did know, you shouldve known that you can't do anything except add more cooling and waste more money.
