I would like to take part in Bitcoin discussions on Google hangouts.  My main areas of interest are the implications Bitcoin has for businesses, particularly with marketing.

Can anyone recommend something?

I guess you could publicly post your email, and see if anyone starts chatting you up on google hangouts...

Local meet ups are a good place to start.  Depending on where you live there may be one near by. 

Isn't this quite a broad field of discussion? I guess you'd need some more specialized topic to organize a hangout or a conference so to say... If you want to talk about bitcoin in general this is the forum to go to!

There really isn't any reason why you couldn't have bitcoin related discussions on these forums. Also these forums have important protections from scammers, like limiting the number of PMs that can be sent per hour and the ability to report scamming type PMs to a mod/admin.

With google hangouts you do not have this protection and would essentially be doing backroom deals that is not subject to public scrutiny so the other user could not be warned if he is about to get scammed.
