Title: What wallet for Windows Phone?
Post by: Kazimir on July 22, 2014, 04:27:21 PM
There used to be a 'Bitcoin' app for Windows Phone that seemed to work quite well. But now the app's page says This app is no longer published (https://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/bitcoin/ca65fc5b-14f0-4da4-8e39-e2d4b702b2ea). WTF?

Is there any working Bitcoin wallet app for Windows Phone?  ???

I remember seeing another one, but still works only on testnet.

I'm trying to program one myself, but since it's on my free time, I still have a long way to go before it's finished.

Even if there is one, would you trust the developer enough to use it? I would use the online blockchain wallet instead.

I see people using the Android (and now iPhone) wallets with no problem. Obviously they need to trust the wallets.

I'd love to see Mycelium on Win Pho.

I really liked Windows Phone but I was forced back to Android by the poor selection of apps (and the apps that were available were sub par versions compared to iOS and Android).  Spotify's official app, for example. There wasn't a single podcast app that would consistently auto download the latest eps over wifi without the phone plugged in. It was infuriating (but I gather the situation is improving).

Android is okay but it seems to develop a degree of bloat after a while.  Everything slows down.  More forced closing, etc.

Maybe I'll give the big screen iPhone a shot when it lands later this year.

I would typically keep only 'spare change' in a mobile wallet.

But yeah, I trust most Bitcoin developers to some level (more so than bankers).
