Hello and welcome! You will be a member when your activity score reaches 60. It's calculated by taking the minimum of your post count, and the number of 2-week period you've been active in * 14. So, spend some time (up to 2 weeks, depending on when the timer rolls over) active here, and you'll get bumped up to a member.

In time your ranking will go up, just be patient and keep posting. I think people reach member status after about a 2-3 month period. After you hang out a few months on the forums (and posting) you will reach Full Member status, this happens within half a year.
The more mathematical and detailed explanation is:

Quote
Upgrades
    0 Posts: Brand New
    0 Activity: Newbie
    30 Activity: Jr. Member
    60 Activity: Member
    120 Activity: Full Member
    240 Activity: Sr. Member
    480 Activity: Hero Member

What is activity?
    Activity = min(time * 14, posts)
    Increase activity by posting.
    Activity is updated every 30 minutes.
    Maximum of 14 activity every 2 weeks.

Wait Times
waittime = 360;
if(activity >= 15)
        waittime = (int)(90 - activity);
if(activity >= 60)
        waittime=(int)(34.7586 - (0.0793103 * activity));
if(activity >= 100)
        waittime = max((int)(14-(activity/50)), 4);

Remember to use a strong password to secure your account once you will become senior/hero because they are worth big money
and hackers know that.

Indeed, you should have used a strong password when you registered your bitcointalk account.
If you haven't, you should change it now.

I knew how the activity was calculated and about the rough time you have to wait. But I didn't knew about the exact algorithm being used to determine that time! Thanks!

I doubt that many people are counting the minutes this closely so they need this level of detail.

Welcome, I'm new here too.  Curious if this calculation is done by the SMf forum software, or did the owners have to create a plugin to do it?
