Post by: Mageant on July 22, 2014, 09:22:48 PM
In front of a crowd of about 10,000 people who regulary meet in Berlin and many other cities in Germany on Mondays - the "Peace Vigil Movement" - Luke Rudkowski from "We are Change" mentions cryptocurrencies as one the two important things we can do to change the world (the other being alternative media):

Great to see the message spreading. Thanks for posting this. I've been following WRC for a while now.

Well, as good as this may be, I don't think that having cryptos together with revolutions is a good idea.

This could start giving people the wrong idea, and end up with people starting actual revolutions in an attempt to demolish the system. In no way are the masses ready for that, unless they were to overthrow governments by sheer mass of people.

It is good, however, that the word is getting around, and soon enough we'll be getting more and more popularity.

I just worry we'll get that popularity by being backed by cryptography, computing power, and a revolution.

Bit coin is at its core a revolutionary thing. It was designed to disrupt the status quo. It isn't surprising that so many divergent groups are embracing it.
