[FUSE] Fusecoin - Launched 26.07.2014 at 4AM UTC and 8AM MSK and 12AM EST

The original wallet had a block reward only 1/10 of what it was supposed to be. This has been fixed. Please upgrade to the current wallet.

Introduction

Fusecoin is a brand new anonymous coin that uses mixing to ensure that transactions are not detectable on the network. It features an ultra fair launch in which the first 1440 blocks have zero coins in them. This ensures that no instamining can take place and that pools have a fair chance to get their mining running. After the first 1440 zero reward blocks there will be a further 1440 blocks in which there are standard rewards before it switches over to PoS.

Fusecoin makes transactions anonymous by mixing them many times between lots of different mixing nodes, fusing them together at the final node giving an anonymous transaction. After speaking to the lead developer about this he said that he didn't plan on doing a password protected wallet release as there are 1440 blocks with zero rewards which should give enough time for people to manage the wallets.

The 1st block is 1000 FUSE, for the 1% premine. Then, 1440 blocks of zero rewards. These zero reward blocks allow miners to point their GPUs at a pool, and to ensure all pools are operational. This makes it impossible for developers or anyone else to instamine the first blocks, and ensures everyone is on a level playing field. Then, the reward PoW blocks kick in afterwards when everyone has had a day to prepare. Finally, after 1440 reward PoW blocks, Fusecoin turns into pure PoS.

Here is the code again:

COIN is a constant which represents the value of a single coin. It looks to me like:

block 1 has a 1000 coin reward

blocks 2...1440 have a 0 coin reward

blocks 1441... have a 6.875 coin reward

The statement "int64_t nSubsidy = 4000 * COIN;" has no affect because nSubsidy is overwritten in all cases, by later code.

There are 1440 minutes in 24 hours; so there are 1440 blocks:

60*24 = 1440

With a block reward of 6.875 there are:

1440 * 6.875 = 9900 coins

Including the premine, total coins would be:

9900 + 1000 = 10,900 coins

% of premine would be:

1000/10,900 ~ 9.17%

good catch, premine is 10% not 1%... block reward is 6.875 because money supply already shown block 1 is 1000.

I've been mining on your pool for some time, it's showing valids and blocks are found yet no unconfirmed coins show up and after a while my valids get reset. There's something wrong guys..

This will likely cause a fork, since there must be many people who downloaded the original broken wallet. I think that the developer better put in large red letters in the original post something like:

The wallet was updated with a very trivial change of just changing the reward amount to be "68.75*(COIN/100)" previously, it was divded by 1000, making the reward 6.875 instead of 68.75. We apologize for this critical bug and did not mean to deceive. We understand VAST had a hidden premine and our first priority is to ensure everything is fair and to avoid their malicious mistakes. This bug was an honest mistake. It was code left over from last minute testing that was forgotten to change back before release.

The developers have been extremely quick to issue an update to fix this problem and we hope that this issue will not cause you to lose faith in all of us.

Hello all, I just wanted update with short to mid term plan:

• Get an exchange, to ensure distribution to non-miners
• Begin guerilla marketing campaign on twitter (#Fusecoin)
• Approach small merchants with incentives to support Fusecoin (use some of the premine funds to possibly back a bonus fund for merchants)
• Begin marketing on  coin related sites with premine funds
• Iterate on this plan as we get closer

We understand the difficulty being extremely high means this coin is very hard to mine, but this is also a good thing. This ensures the network is secure, and is a good measure of how much people believe in us.

all new altcoins are a scam.

especially true with 1 day of mining.

the way it works is simple.

• dev instamines using high hash rental rigs.
• he gets and exchange listing.
• he dumps on the exchange.
• he comes back and makes a new thread.

there are no 'ultra fair launches' you can be sure of that.

this is a formula that makes the dev money and maybe a few lucky people who get it early enough.

in two weeks no one will even remember this coin exists.

The developers rented a modest amount of short term hashing power for the launch (100MHash/s or so). But beyond this, this is just how pools work. It's not like developers can get a high hash rate rig for free. If you think this is so profitable, why not rent more hashing power and  beat out the developers? Trust me, it's not developers that are pushing coin launch difficulties so high.

It's working okay for me.  Make sure your rig is setup to mine X11.  I suspect you have it setup to mine X13 or some other algorithm.

The POS is working fine. What everyone fails to do is actually read. It takes 24 hours for stake to start. So while you all sitting with it in the pools, smarter people were moving it to wallets. The more coins in wallets ready to stake the better. However this coin has a design flaw that it takes 24 hours to stake. So the first paying block is now only ready to stake. Everyone will need another 24 hours for the coin to stake.

Nothing is broken, all is in correct working order.

Also, to give a network update, PoS is working according to plan, but we need more people staking! If you have coins in your wallet, please ensure your wallet is left opened and unlocked so that you get stake rewards! The network is slowly speeding up, but it will probably be another 12 hours until everything is back to normal.

Honestly, I've seen scams created by accounts with hundreds of posts and successes created by newbie accounts.  It's not that hard to rack up posts on bitcointalk.  The coins you can trust most have pictures and the first and last names of the devs available, and the devs actually go to conventions and have a presence.  This includes established coins like bitcoin and blackcoin and new coins with considerable development that are asking for a huge IPO like syscoin.  Although, this is still no guarantee that you will profit.

So POS is working well.
