Watch the altcoin sections. Invest as soon as it starts up, then wait.

Stay out of pumps. They are too risky if you're not the one running it. You will get burned more than you win. Just a friendly tip from somoene who has been trading cryptos for over 8 months.

Please don't.

A bunch of people trying to make money off a pump and dump only contributes to a lack of confidence in alt-coins and crypto-currency in general.

No much of a trick, but follow people on twitter, and see which coins are trending the most and have not significantly gone up yet. Unless there is a scam or FUD, they will probably be pumped. Still advise against this though because as Alice just said, these pump and dumps are not helping crypto at all.

You can watch the order book for when whales are buying coins and look at coins that have new features. It may be chance so I am not sure if there is a good strategy. If there was one that person may not wish to tell others.

Keep in mind the most expensive scam is when you think you can scam the scammer.

This^

These pumpers are not your friends. They are very skilled at getting the price up high and then chasing out massive amounts sending everyone else into the ground.

As others have stated, you probably are better off not even trying to figure out what coins are about to be pumped. You could look for signals, twitter talk, imminent MP listings, trollbox chatter, but half the time it doesn't work anyway. It's rarely a good idea to jump into a coin during a pump, so you are probably better off just choosing good coins and hoping for the best. If it's decent and has volume, it'll probably get some type of pump at some point or go the slow rise route, which tends to be best.

but.. what do i suggest ?
find a coin you believe in and stick with it !
that has a great success rate for me :)

I think you're on to something, but if you increase the publics awareness about an observable trend then you will decrease the size of the pump and make the pumpers find new ways of doing things.

In the stock market, not every gain is called a pump, some are genuine gains. Gains are just a rarity in the altworld.

I don't think all coins start out as Ponzi Schemes... I guess you agree though if you think there are still new coins coming out worth believing in.

That's the problem though, all the coins are going down. Except for bitcoin and the coins being pumped.

I followed 20 coins on a spreadsheet every day for 2 months and the only ones that had actual gains were XCP and NMC.

The problem is, its the same damn BTC that gets recycled from coin to coin. I don't think there's actually much new blood coming into this game anymore.

thanks for all replys...the work to benefit ratio seams to be low. having to check twitter all day to "gamble" in low volume markets, guess this is not for me

The best is to start your own pump, then you know before it starts and also when dump will begin. Dont choose coins with a lot of fud to pump as these are hard to sell, and dont choose to big ones as you need a lot of money to pump them....and you will do just fine :)
