I run coffeecoin.pw and I buy and sell Starbucks gift cards.  The restrictions are making it very inconvenient to trade for me (e.g. one post every six minutes, 5 pms an hour)

What can I do?

The restrictions / time limits go down the more activity you get.

you need to post more over time. The posting restricting are designed so it is hard to scam multiple people as a newbie.

I noticed once I hit 14/15 activity restrictions went down to only 45 seconds which was a massive jump.
Just keep posting constructively and you'll be there in no time!

From what i read it is to spam...that is not why activity was created

Just bear with it and make some more posts. The next 2-week period starts next Tuesday, and you could get at most 28 activity then.
Your posting limit and PM limit will be much lower then. :)

Once you raise your Activity high enough, your posting delay will be lowered to a tolerable amount. Of course, the smart thing to do would be to use the forum to tell people about your service and to use an irc or chat client, a program like Skype, your own forum or email to communicate with any potential customers. After all, it isn't a good business practice to run your own website while completely piggybacking on a third party forum for communication.

You will unlikely have enough customers so you will need to send more PM then what is currently the limit, nor will you likely need to send more PMs then what the limits are until enough time passes so that your limits are increased.
