Quote
Arizona’s first and only bitcoin ATM, which was only installed last week, has been knocked out of action by a lighting strike. The Skyhook machine, which was installed inside the Bookmans Entertainment Exchange, Tuscon, was operated by Javelin Investments LLC. Brian Williams, founder of the company, told azcentral.com that the building was struck by lightning, which caused a power surge and knocked out some of the ATM’s components

Hopefully it will be repaired soon.
This could NEVER happen twice in the same location.  :D

That's it boys, bitcoin is done. Zeus has weighed in on cryptocurrency and found it not worthy. Time to sell.

Misleading title. The building was struck by lightning, not the ATM.

Area 51 is to blame, damn them! I'm sure they'll get it up and running soon so no worries.

I'm sorry for their loss but I just had to laugh at that
It was so brilliant that Texas couldn't handle it and the weather zapped it (Or just bad timing)

On the other hand everything is bigger in texas so I guess that includes ATM machines that get Thunderstruck  8)

Lol

It sucks that an ATM can get struck by a lighting bolt though well not directly but by extension hope they get it fixed soon

Man, that sucks. I hope that they can get it fixed and that not to much Bitcoins were lost due to knocked out components (if any were lost).

However, I don't get why this (terrible) joke wasn't made yet:
The machine hooked up to the sky.

Groan well add that to thunderstruck and we now have the stairway to heaven  ;)

Anyways I think that the wallet would be remote connected so they probally have a backup of it and the machine is the thing that broke
Probally hosted on digital ocean or something and they need to set the wallet up to the ATM machine.

Yea, I really hope that the bitcoins aren't stored on the atm, which would be really stupid cause someone could just open up the atm and take the private key. I would imagine that the atm is remotely controlling a wallet stored on a secure server somewhere. I think we can blame the illuminati  ;)
