Title: Erik Voorhees Talks BitLicense Regulations & Bitcoin Privacy | Coin Brief
Post by: DynamicDK on July 29, 2014, 03:44:24 PM
Sean had the chance to sit down with Erik Voorhees last night, and chat about the New York BitLicense Regulations and Bitcoin Privacy.  Erik has a strong grasp of the situation, and makes a lot of really good points about what is happening with New York, and how it should be handled.

Is there a text transcript?

I personally hate videos of what should be text, too easy to mis-hear and hard to skim back temporarily, etc.

There is no text transcript at the moment.  I'll ask Sean if he is planning to add one later.

A text transcript should be available on Coin Brief tomorrow.

The transcript is available there now (along with YouTube and Soundcloud embedding, so you can read along while listening if you prefer).

I agree with the first part of that statement.   He articulates his thoughts very well and clearly.   I think the way he speaks is very inspirational for the future of cryptos.   Some people come off ignorant when they talk about their libertarian views, but he does it the right way...

His piece about the NY DFS proposed Bitlicense is brilliant:

Agreed...I don't like when libertarians are so radical that it turns off the majority of people (myself included).  It's like Scalia's opinions on the SCOTUS, fine he has a viewpoint but be realistic and reasonable.

So he should be more like Sotomayor? Who's opinions are often not even remotely based on law and precedent, but only on what she thinks should be right and makes up justifications from the air.

I think a lot of people don't like extreme views no matter which side of he spectrum they are on. They really just sound crazy.
