They do this a handful of times per year whenever the US and the South have their military exercises at sea. DPRK doesn't have a weapon capable of firing on the US mainland and their supposed largest submarine fleet in the world is a laugh riot. They have plenty of missiles stationed at strategic areas to lob at Seoul, way more than Hamas has to send into Israel. So, that's about all they got. It must creep Jr Kim out when he views footage of the South and US showing off their carrier and destroyer fleets w/ all the suped up aircraft on board. Anyways, this may be old news, it's hard to tell since it's so routine.

I don't think that this is the first time they are threatening to use the nukes. They don't have missiles which can reach mainland US. At the most they can attack the US base in Okinawa, just like what the Japs did in Pearl Harbor.

It's that time of the month - yes the monthly saber rattling, or in this case nuke rattling, from DPRK.  Come back this time next month for some good mystery theater!

What if North Korea does not use missiles as the carrier of the nuke. There are many ways to bring nukes without missiles. The can use cargo containers or through mexico border and smuggle it to us cities or suicide submarines.

If the missiles are launched nearby using submarines at very low altitude us patriot missiles would not have enough time to react to it.

Looks like that North Korea has yet to reach a technological level high enough to develop the bombs, as building requires advanced skills  :-\

Well, nuking the White House would also destroy the Pentagon. Not sure why they would waste 2 rockets when one would be enough. I agree that the White House is a stronghold of evil. If they wait till obama gets finished firing the good Military Leaders and replacing them with really evil ones, then, by all means, send that extra rocket.

The rocket will not be able to enter American air space, let alone American soil. Have you guys forgotten about the state of the art defensive technology we posses? It will take some serious intellectual calculations to achieve that goal. I seriously doubt they could ever come close to accomplishing that. Now Russia or China on the other hand have more intelligence and money to accomplish that goal; however, they are not foolish enough to do it or talk about doing it. If you really want to Nuke someone, you aren’t going to announce it to the world. It is clear that Hwang Pyong-So is only saying this to gain more popularity from his people.

I believe the only concern if NK gets a nuke is that it's most likely to blow up at their hands contaminating South Korea, China and the East of Russian Federation with radiation.

Attack USA with it... not in a million years! The chubby would need to drop himself by parachute wearing only a pair of boxers over New York before NK can even drop a firecracker at US.

Ya, it's mostly a routine propaganda technique used to gin up domestic unity against the imperialist enemy they've learned about as soon as the could walk and talk. The brainwashing that goes on in the classrooms over there is pretty creepy.

It's too bad they will collapse some time soon, I just can't see this regime surviving any longer, especially under that fathead leading the way. They're literally living 50 years in the past.

Yes, it seems very funny and ridiculous to hear such threatens from North Korea over and over again but still they can make a lot damage to South Korea with their weapons and if they fail in the state of depression they can even start limited was conflict in Korean peninsula in order to mobilize their own people.
 As long as this regime is in the power, situation there will be very tense and US troops will have to stay there.

NK is mostly a treat to South Korea and Japan. 50 years after the war there are still conflicts between the governments, which I think is not much of a progress.
Technically the war never ended, and a peace contract was never signed. It's common to hear a lot of claims from the NK government, and they have a big army - but they seriously do not have the capabilities to invade the US.
