Title: I sent an email to this vet clinic in Gambia
Post by: alani123 on July 30, 2014, 12:53:24 PM
So there is a vet clinic in Gambia that works with stray animals. I randomly stumbled upon their youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/user/VetClinicGambia/videos) one day. They've done some amazing rescues and instantly earned my respect. I went to their website http://www.vetclinicgambia.com/ to see that they're accepting donations. Sadly they only accept paypal as a payment option and I don't use paypal. I sent them an email suggesting that they should use Bitcoin as a payment option so I can donate to them more easily, maybe you should do too. :)

Wow those rescues are indeed amazing. I've seen them before, and it makes me wonder why they don't get more exposure than the mainstream dog rescue youtube channels that mainly film staged rescues.

Gambia, I wonder whether they will be able to sell the donated BTC over there. Anyone some insight into that?

There are a few buyers and sellers in Gambia on localbitcoins: https://localbitcoins.com/country/GM
The ones buying however pays with PayPal so there's a risk that the seller gets scammed.

Edit; Just saw that the buyers are based abroad.

Would it be possible for people in Gambia to open up an account at one of the bigger exchanges? Also selling BTC with PayPal seems like an awful idea, especially to someone abroad. A chargeback is effectively guaranteed!

I tried registering an account with Gambia as the chosen country on Bitstamp, and it worked! So probably that's no problem! :)

And yeah, trading using PayPal is basically just giving your bitcoins away!
