Title: Leaguecoin
Post by: URSAY on July 30, 2014, 04:41:46 PM
Devs appear to have logged in just to lock the original leaguecoin thread after many attempts at communication from the community.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=622801.msg8078491#msg8078491

Welcome to the new leaguecoin thread.  :)

Thank you for making this. I hope the rest of the community finds it, so we can rally up.

It really irritates me that he would just leave like that, without any effort to fix the coin, and with a fake-looking cease and desist letter. And it takes some balls to log in just to close the thread just to shut us up.

Dev, if you're reading this, please consider handing control over to the community. You already got your money from your scam, at least let some honest people take over and try to fix your marred work. And if you think we don't see through EsportsCoin for what it is... You're wrong. Stop making new coins if you're not going to support them after two months. Or if you insist... At least change up the specs a little.

Would any of the original investors like to help out in the effort to keep this coin going?

So is anyone going to come back? We're thinking of forking the coin so that we can gain control. But we'd need help from you guys!

It would be nice to see something happen with the coin, What kind of help do you need?

I'm pretty sure we want to fork it by having like 10% or so of the total available coins. I'm not too sure how forking works in general, especially with PoS.

Thanks for the responses guys.  I'm continuing to discuss Leaguecoin with some friends who may be able to help us.  When I am more organized in this initiative I'll reach out with more details.  In the meantime let's continue to round up the community interested in keeping this coin alive in some form.

I know it's hard to believe but it is possible to support more then one coin.  However, this topic is about Leaguecoin, not Minerals.  I understand the features of Minerals are similar.  If I wanted to know more about Minerals then I'd be in a Minerals thread.  Sooooo...wrong thread bro.   ::)

EDIT:  Minerals thread:

Technically its only "lost" once you have sold.  ;D (if at a low price)

Hi Everyone! Good idea starting this new tread. Found out about it in a Reddit post.
Seems like really strange behavour from the Dev... if you were just scamming, why go to all the effort to achieve what he did? And locking the forum thread is even more confusing. I would hate to fork just to discover that he is coming back after striking a deal with LOL or something.  :P But the likelihood of that is very very small.

I also do not understand what it means to fork/hardfork a cryptocurrency? Can anyone explain it?

Just noticed this... [ANN][ESC] ESportsCoin | Pure PoS | ESend Lite & E-Sports Betting wallet LIVE! (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=689852.0)

I'm about 99.99% sure this is the same dev from our Leaguecoin.  Not happy.....

Not to mention that I was the one that came up with the "ESportsCoin" name in the original post.  :(

Anything look familiar? Maybe the fact its exactly the same as the Leaugecoin betting website! And they already have LOL and SC2 betting working. Like Leaguecoin did just before it shutdown. I'm now 100% sure! >:( >:( >:(

Hi if you are looking for an Honest Coin Please take a look at CapitalCoin CPTL
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=683450

This topic has nothing to do with the alt coins you mention.  Please stop spamming.

On another note...It's also been suggested that the leaguecoin dev was involved in CScoin.  That thread was also locked and abandon by the dev around the same time as leaguecoin's thread.

So after much sobbing, I think we should try and look for a way forward with this coin.
Is there any possible way to fork without the original keys?
Also, I suppose there is a slim possibility that he may merge LOL and/or CSC into ESC one day. But not holding my breath.

Holding my breath for you URSAY  ;D

Is there a downside for either party to merge coins with another crypto? Maybe HyperCoin?

Well i also have a lot of LOL coins. Sadly it looks like the dev was just another scamer, creating the next coin pretty fast ...
Lets hope people will be interested in the coin as it was pretty nice.

Agreed this is still a really nice coin. And I'm still a big bag holder.
But I'm still hoping that URSAY and his friends might be able to pull off a miracle.  ;)

I'm still holding but not that much. And nothing is impossible as long as there are active community supporting the coin.

If the NYS BitLicense passes then it will be legally questionable for me to help revive ANY coin.

Everyone, please throw your support behind the petition that counters the BitLicense.

This proposed NYS legislation could spread from state to state on a federal level if ignored.

I want to help the community and I want to help this coin but that will be impossible if I have mounting legal issues in the future.

Some interesting info here about leaguecoin...

https://chainz.cryptoid.info/lol/

Check out the tabs to the right of "Latest Blocks".   :-\

Also, a message from Bittrex...

"This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on Aug 29th unless the average daily trade volume for the last 7 days exceeds 0.1 BTC."

However, I wouldn't suggest you buy.  :(

I move we rebrand this coin BELOcoin and create our own crypto version of airbnb without the centralist fees. I think everyone would LOL!

From a technical standpoint I'm not sure it's worth trying to save this coin.  It's likely the dev has over 51% of the coins.  Forking the coin would require network consensus but if the dev pretty much owns the network then it's a losing battle.  Please correct me if I am wrong.

On a side note, I was contacted by another unrelated coin.  They were suggesting a distribution where LOL and other coins could be traded for their coin.  However, after I explained that I was unable to connect to any LOL nodes the conversation died.

There is a lesson to be learned here that I've unfortunately had to learn with a few coins...   :'(

No matter how cool the features are, if the devs or devs are anon or questionable, DON'T BUY.
