Luck be a protected cryptocurrency-based transaction via a highly secure, distributed network tonight! Robocoin, a bitcoin ATM company, has announced that it’s placed the first bitcoin ATM on the Las Vegas strip where the high-rollers and low- can go to turn their winnings into crypto cash.

The ATM, south of Harmon Blvd on Las Vegas Blvd, is “inside a souvenir shop that surpasses 100,000+ in daily foot traffic,” hardly a spot that the Rat Pack might frequent. However, Robocoin is claiming that that the area is secure and popular with tourists. The ATM is owned by Chris McAlary, creator of CoinCloudNV. The ATM is near the end of the strip, across from the new City Center Casino.

Yet another kick-ass destination that big bitcoin bag holders can frequent and now easily convert their coins to fiat for the tables!  How cool is that?  I imagine there will be a bit of a dominoe effect with other casino's introducing atm's as well.  Especially if a few "bitcoin whales" happen to stop by and spend some big money ;)

People go to Vegas to spend money. {Currently fiat} not to buy Bitcoins.

If you find a bitcoin user there on holiday, and he/she wins some money, they might invest some in Bitcoin, but the chance of that is low. The whole Vegas scene is setup for people to spend money, not to buy investments in crypto currency.

On the other hand, if merchants there start to accept BTC and ATM's are regularly availlable, it might stimulate a need for the currency, and people might convert their fiat to BTC for that purpose. {The only question would be, why would they want to do it, if fiat and other payment methods are availlable?} Only reason I can think of, is ease of use and it will be cheaper, due to low transaction fee's.

When people are in an environment like that, they tend to not think about cheaper alternatives, and the "holiday" feeling cloud there judgement. {They normally spend more than what they would have spend, when they were home.} :(

Might this be a way for Chinese whales to blast off huge money in Vegas? I hope so.
