Ive seen a couple of brand new users randomly sharing this link around today. Bloody scammers.

Setting up 2-factor is a must if you have any type of online bitcoin account. You're probably safe if you do.

I agree, always opt in for 2 factor authentication on any site, and even setup 2 factor authentication for your email addresses, Dropbox has 2 Factor if you store anything on their. Enabling 2 Factor where possible is one of the first steps I have people do when I teach them how too secure their Bitcoin. Having 2-Factor should at-least eliminate most losses due to keyloggers.

And it isn't the official Wall Street Journal page either.  As you said, both the-wsj.com and block-chainl.info are scam sites.

Bookmark the website and just double check the url. Do you also have tewo factor on? If you do you're probably safe.

Best way to avoid fishing attempts to avoid clicking any unknown links which are sent by others via any sources, always bookmark the sites that you are frequently visits which holds your confidential data. you can enable additional security like 2 factor or any other security protocols.

Nicely found, I did not see this. People should be warned on time to prevent scams, at least as many as we can prevent.

I have done both for my home computer but I sometimes log in at cafes and need to look it up that way.
Replacing my phone soon so I can be more protected than I am. At the moment my phone gets a bit dirty from work,so I didnt invest in a expensive one.

This is why I always type the blockchain address, not bookmark it(computer virus can affect browsers too) or click in any link, even the ones by google search results.

I use 2FA with Blockchain.info, but I would also like to see them implement a system like those pictures that the banks use when you log in.

That is fake, and is a scam of some sort. That is not the legitimate WSJ site (the links on the page go to the legit site, but [Suspicious link removed] is not the WSJ) and the blockchain link is to a fake blockchain site.

No mention on the legitimate WSJ of this, Blockchain's blog, nor Blockchain's Twitter.

Also it links to a phishing site block-chainl . info. Don't go there or you will lose your coins.

There are a lot of these out there, and they seem to be always popping up. This is the first one where I have seen the attacker trying to use a fake news site to link someone to a fake blockchain.info site. I would say a best practice would be to always type in the blockchain.info address when you access the site if you use them as your wallet service.

SMS to your phone number? What happened to Bitcoin anonymity? I wouldn't trust blockchain.info with that. Would you trust MtGox?

Two factor authentication sounds more dangerous than only using username and password.

These blockchain.info phishing sites are popping up like weeds.

They seem to work because I keep hearing about people who don't use 2FA getting their accounts cleared out.

People who use blockchain.info for their wallet need to be extra careful about security.

Yeah, usually see at least a few every month. I guess it's an easy scam really.

Wouldn't be so much of it if it wasn't so lucrative.

I've always used inspect element on random links.

One of the worst ones that happened a little while ago was the one that was a google ad. When you googled blockchain.info an ad would be the first thing listed which said it was a link to blockchain.info. And google search links are all forwarded through a google tracking url so you don't even see what url you're actually going to.

I found out about it after someone on here posted that they got their wallet cleaned out. :( Personally I try to avoid web wallets. Lots more ways you can lose your BTC.

This is why checking the HTTPS info in your web browser before logging in is so important. Unfortunately, I'm not as good about that as I should be.
