Thing is how many will want to buy.

Reasons for drops recently:

1) bitlicense, poeple are scared of this.

2) coinapult's locks ( effectively sells bitcoin when people Lock ) just released the other day.

3) Alot of people are not yet convinced the bear market is over

Reasons why you should buy:

1) poeple are sacred

2) poeple need to unlock there coins one day...

3) pretty good chance the bear market is over.

in conclusion, down is up, welcome to bitcoin.

How much donations did they get? I think their donations are too little compared to the daily volume. I do not think they will have much impact on the price.

Haha, I got a personal e-mail from wikipedia for that reason :D They invited me to donate because some day in very distant past I had asked them about Bitcoin donations. So I donated 1$ worth of Bitcoins. That's why the recent drops, 1$ is a lot of money you know.

Doubt the have received enough donations to really put a dent in prices even if they dumped them all at once

So this is all your fault!  You should be banned from using the Bitcoin as in your hands those coins are dangerous ...

Say, you wanted some cheap coins don't you?

Do you have a link that proves that Wikipedia actually cashed out their BTC donations? I would think that a foundation like Wikipedia would likely want to diversify their investments at least a little bit so it would make sense to me that they would keep at least some of their bitcoin donations in bitcoin.

Jimmy Wales seems much more a cash grabber to me. I'd doubt he'd ever hold bitcoins unless it was skyrocketing and he thought he could get a lot more short term cash out of it.

Isn't the normal daily trade volume of btc around 20,000? I doubt wikipedia would have received more than 500 in donations so its very unlikely they would have affected the price at all.

I read an article that the founder of Wikileaks said that the reason they are still in existence today is because of their investment in bitcoins early in the days of bitcoin. Any foundation needs to look at the long term, not just focus on the short term.
