Post by: Lethn on August 02, 2014, 11:09:20 PM I'd say it's pretty bad to be a landlocked nation but that's just me, the reason being is having a link to the sea brings in lots and lots of trade and it's relatively inexpensive, think about it, if you were a landlocked nation, the only options you'd have are building airports to fly stuff over friendly airspace or to travel through other friendly countries to reach the sea or deal with countries further away. This requires a huge amount of diplomacy and likely very expensive treaties, wheras if you've got a coastline you can simply send your ships around international waters to deal directly with the countries you want to deal with.
