Title: New World Order
Post by: trans4mist on August 02, 2014, 12:39:54 AM
Had not seen my cousin in years, he asked me what I was up to and I mentioned Bitcoin. He wanted to know more about it so we started discussing it and the conversation somehow shifted to his religious beliefs on the apocalypse, antichrist, new world order, mark of the beast, blah blah.

I don't subscribe to any of this paranoia, but I can see how people involved in this ideology would come to think this is the works of the devil and all that crazy stuff. Has anyone had to deal with this in the past? How do you overcome that "argument"?

You don't. You let time pass, your cousin grows up a bit more, he lives and sees life,

then understands that death is the future for all OF US, no matter what happens.,

and all the rest is a flight o' fancy. Row, row, row your boat gently down that stream.  ;)

This type of thing is bound to happen when people don't discuss important issues.  The important topics are clouded by unrelated topics that only confuse the discussion.  The New World Order is about control from the top down and one way to do that is a global centralized currency.  Bitcoin is the opposite with no central Authority and that is where the real difference is in my opinion.

I've come across this myself from people who don't have a full understanding on what Bitcoin is or how the world has worked in the past or currently.  I'd suggest you stick to facts when you discuss Bitcoin in the future with your cousin, good luck.

You have to tell him that Bitcoin is the opposite of the NWO. The NWO wants a one world centrally controlled currency while Bitcoin is the exact opposite.

It's very hard to discuss with not rational people based on the rational arguments only.
If feelings and their belief leading their life you can't prove them anything.
Believe me, it's just wasting of your time and energy trying to change their mind or prove anything.

How old is your cousin? but as Daniel91 said, it's not possible to explain Bitcoin without using reason.. if any basic word describes it, I think it's freedom.

The gap between fear and ignorance is very thin. Believing in the supernatural is just our primitive way of "connecting the dots" so that we no longer have to fear the unknown.

You can't. It's not possible to overcome reason. It's a near-indestructible wall and the only one that can breach it is oneself.
As the French say 'les goûts et les couleurs ne se discutent pas'.  :D

And this difference isn't in favor of Bitcoin, if you think about it.

With the type of money like Bitcoin (with fixed and limited supply), you don't need to be a central Authority. You don't even need to have 50%+1 of all coins. Just get more coins than anyone else has and you're done.

There probably is what one would call an NWO going on in the Western countries as the big shots of industry and heads of states likely collude among themselves and probably not for the betterment of their people. The immigration scandal in the USA is a prime example of flushing this country w/ toxic diseases, criminal gangs and I pray no biological weapons or dirty bombs. However, I don't see an NWO global order as their are competing interests among the elites of the world and Russia and China don't exactly say how high when the West says jump.
